Corky Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 On grounds of unexpected ugliness? That or expected mediocrity or struggle.
WardyisPukka Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 MM has royally messed this whole situation up to the point now pearson has pretty much gone but as ppl have said no man is bigger than LCFC and that includes MM !! It should of never of come to this but hey this is football and its a dog eat dog business , pearson is looking after himself and if MM hasnt given what he wants then its well within his right to listen to offers from other clubs , just wish it was a more decent club!! !! but i honestly dont have a clue who i want in !! they all sound terrible !!
Guest Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 That or expected mediocrity or struggle. Or indeed a combination of all 3. Frightening
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 That restructuring at least on the football side, which I presume is what you're talking about will have been down to Pearson with Shakespeare and Walsh both of whom are predicted to leave with Pearson and recruited by him and wouldn't be here if it were not for him. Not since the days of Walford and Robertson have our coaches been so pivotal. This is the biggest loss imo.
Dan Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Looks like the move is more of a case of leaving Leicester, rather than to join Hull.

Now now, such things are subjective
Guest DavidJCW Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Well has he gone then? Can this last few days in football get any worse? England lose, Pearson leaves, all the backroom staff at Leicester leave... players?

Karljohn Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 If we get Ian Dowie i am demanding a refund for my season ticket I want a refund if its Dowie, I want compensation and refund if its fooking Coleman.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Would people take Ince? I know his stock has dipped a bit since his time at Macclesfield / his first stint at MK Dons, I'd still rather have him than Dowie I think.

I know his stock has dipped a bit since his time at Macclesfield / his first stint at MK Dons, I'd still rather have him than Dowie I think. Not personally, yes I'd take him ahead of Dowie but out of the other potential candidates mentioned then not for me personally. Southgate or Mowbray for me. Same here....and Micky Adams of course. The disparaging comments against the prospect of Southgate have surprised me to be honest, especially considering how Middlesbrough nose-dived after his departure. Also seems a pretty intelligent and thoughtful guy( the same qualities Pearson is continually lauded for), he's a gem shining out of the ITV dung-heap.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 I wouldn't be too disappointed in Southgate either tbh. Curbishley / Mowbray / Southgate would be my preferences if / when Mandaric targets someone out of work, O'Driscoll / Hill if going for someone currently at a club. Would've suggested Steve Cotterill, completely forgotten he'd gone to Portsmouth though. Tilley Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Southgate's main problem was wasting money. He won't have to worry about that here.
Dames Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 We are going to end up with one of the shitbags that are out of work at the minute. MM will not be able to get it right again.
Brainy Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Southgate's main problem was wasting money. He won't have to worry about that here. Like Phil Brown then.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Kevin Keegan's out of work as well....

Very impressed with S****horpe last season and more importantly (as we've learnt in the past) the way he conducts himself.
BoneDog Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Am I the only one not that fussed by him leaving? Anyone who has read my posts and match reports throughout the season will know that I am not one of Pearson's biggest fans. I have been critical of what I term his 'matchday skills', that is the selection, set up and tactics for each game. I have said many times over the last year or so how I feel our set up has been wrong, how we have been too negative and how we are rarely able to change a game by making a tactical change or substitution. This has limited our progress in my view and with the hugely positive 'promotion bounce' that we had last season now gone I always thought next season would be tough. A new more adventurous manager might just make the difference. I am well aware that Pearson has helped restructure the playing side of our club, but how much of that is down to him personally I do not know. I think it important that the structures that have helped the club move forward are kept in place and I can see no reason, Steve Walsh apart, why they should not be. There will be some changes in personnel but if the structures are solid then I think we can manage this. As for a new manager, everyone will have their own idea, but given the need to be careful with the cash I would suggest giving a good coach the chance to step up, someone like Steve Clarke would be top of my list. I know what you mean about Pearson. I have doubted him sometimes but he moved us forward as a club no end in a short time, whatever his shortcomings may be, so I worry that whoever comes in will be a let down. I like the idea of Steve Clarke coming here. Weren't we linked with him a few years ago? I seem to remember being gutted with him not coming when he was a Chelsea coach. I hear nothing but good things about him so would be very happy if we manage to sign him up.
