Scow Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 It depresses me to read some of the name linked to the job. I don't get all this clamouring for Mowbray; he inherited a very strong Championship team, just like Di Matteo. He didn't come close to cutting it in the Premiership and he was an absolute failure in Scotland. As for Sousa, he also inherited a very good team. It was Martinez who has purchased the majority of the players that did so well last season. In fact, what successful signings did Sousa actually make? This is not to detract from what he did last season, but I'm not convinced. I have a really bad feeling that Mandaric will want to go for Dowie - again. The only decent thing Dowie has done in his managerial career was to get Palace to the play-offs after their poor start to the season. I like the suggestion of O'Driscoll. He's done a terrific job at Donny on limited resources. They were in contention for the play-offs until they faded away at the end of the season. However, Burnley tried to approach him last season, but compensation must have been a big stumbling block. Looks like we're in the shit then.

maddog Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 Sousa is now 7/4 favourite for the job. Closely followed by Brendan Rodgers at 11/2 because of this Former Reading and Watford manager Brendan Rogers is the leading contender to take over from Nigel Pearson at Leicester. Pearson left the Walkers Stadium to take up the reins at Hull on Tuesday. Full story: Daily Mirror Guess who, the daily mirror. Everytime.
body102 Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 How about Big Ron Atkinson , He and Wayne Brown would certainly hit it off

Sousa finished in the play-offs (unlike Martinez) with more points, and without Jason Scotland and Jordi Gomez.

skegness fox Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 I just know its going to be Dowie. For the record i would take Phil Brown as i think he is the same type of manager as Pearson and he will get the best out of average players and get them to work as a team! We have average players at best but pearson gelled them as a team if we can get the same type of manager in then i dont see a reason why we cant get promotion .
