Babylon Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Swansea fans split 50/50 about him, none of them will miss the football they played under him though. Rumours of board unrest with him and players not getting on with him. A pretty shocking transfer record all round... what could go wrong!!! Gets my support if it's him, who knows what might happen.
marbelladave Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 1 1/2 seasons in the championship isnt that experianced and he wasnt overly sucessful!! I live with Swansea Season ticket holders and all they do is moan about Sousa's signings and his tactics. Everyone seems to have the impression he will be brilliant but he hasn't been as impressive at Swansea as what everyone seems to think! Fair comment but I was also thinking in terms of his experience as a player, doesn't always count for much but it just might. Swansea were a half decent goalscorer away from a good shout at promotion, I think that was pretty decent. He also tries to get his teams to play passing football not just hoofball which is a big thing for me. As I said I think we have players who will benefit greatly from this kind of approach, in the main better players than he had at Swansea, I guess if we get him we will find out. All fans moan about their manager, it's natural, particularly when your local rivals are doing so well, Pearson was not immune to criticism, even with his record. BTW I would pay to see him take his first training session involving Wayne Brown!...
AyewJoking Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Thats gotta hurt Swans fans. Leaving them for a club who didnt finish much higher than them last season. We are a better proposition though. Pires here we come!
C-man Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Not particularly enamoured towards this but will back him if he gets the job. Maybe we'll get to see the benefits of 'passing football' that have been raved about by certain posters.
Callabinho Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 He can bring that angel rangel with him too. Agreed he was really impressive against us!!
carterfox90 Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 i cant see milan paying compo to any club for a manager as were supposed to be in the crapper with money again milan will go for a out of work manager........dowie.........hope im very wrong

Guest Bilo Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Yet he still managed to do better than Martinez without Jason Scotland or Jordi Gomez... Exactly. And not all Swansea fans are unfussed by losing him judging by comments on their forum. If this is true personally I'm very disappointed. We're talking here about a man who has guided us to our highest league position for over 20 years and that's after all the upheaval at the club at the end of the previous season. Where I agree that some of our performances last season were negative but if one or two guilt edge chances had been taken we would have found ourselves in the play off lottery which really would have been a remarkable achievement. so dross and boring we were 1 goal away from the playoffs, best performance in years and now a big money () club that finished above us are willing to give him a go..you keep telling yourself that it might actually become true Big mistake to let him go in my opinion - he has the tactical nous and ruthlessness to eventually become a great manager. Shame he was saddled with so much of El ****o's deadwood. i'm phucking spewing... ffsi was one of the sousa lovers, i aint apologising for f**k all.. i blame the haters why he's left
Callabinho Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Swansea fans may just be moaning because they expected to get to the play-offs but narrowly missed out ! I for one thought they played some really nice stuff at times and along with west brom were the most attractive side to watch ! but they lacked that finishing ability that I feel we have got here at the Walkers, the Football Sousa's teams play would benefit players like Fryatt if he stays ! So I am looking forwards to seeing him here and maybe we will get some investments too ! I also feel that Sousa is the type of manager who can get the best out of what he has got ! we don't know the situations at Swansea maybe they couldn't afford to splash the cash ? so Sousa had to work with a tight budget and really he has done very well, they finished in a good position with a good squad ! very much like us ! I think he may even dip his toes into our impressive youth team ! and I hope he does there's nothing like good young home grown talent and we seem to have that . I also feel he will get the best out of Lloyd Dyer and Danny N'Guessan id love to see Danny find his feet and get more of a chance ! Personally if this is true and he is the man, I would welcome it because I think we will do very well under him ! we have got players with the skill levels and ideas and I feel Sousa will bring them out and get us flowing more and playing some nice sexy Football !
Mee Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 He is a young manager who people may say lacks experience, but he did get Swansea to a creditable seventh. Looking forward to see what he offers. He reminds me of Roberto Mancini with his dress sense 'Paulo Sousa's blue army' Don't sound to bad, at least it works
Shrenchel Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Our first ever non-British manager? This shit's about to get exotic.
Bryn Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 So we sold Pearson to bring in Sousa? Very strange circumstances.
Alexikokopops Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Our first ever non-British manager? This shit's about to get exotic. Sousa would be our second. Our first was Frank O'Farrell. Not quite as exotic mind.
Shrenchel Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 So some paddy took us to a cup final before my dad had even met the woman he spunked me into. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
Scaramanga! Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 O'Farrell quit managing Cardiff to go manage Iran. The man has taste.
Mav Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Is it any coincidence that when we played Swansea last season it produced 3 of the most boring games?? I might be the only one but I really don't want him. I do not want to see Wayne Brown trying to pass a football or a team walking around the pitch thinking they're playing in Serie A. I'm sorry but if you want 0-0 after 0-0 then he's your man. This could only be Gary Megson MKII
Collymore Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 All other media sources are saying that Swansea haven't even heard from Leicester let alone him having talks
Shrenchel Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Read on a Swansea forum that he doesnt take young players on loan from other clubs because he doesnt believe in developing someone else's talent for them. Makes you wonder where the shit we'd get any decent new blood from.

Makes you wonder where the shit we'd get any decent new blood from. Fair enough policy I suppose, each to their own. Of course you do miss out on the Waghorn's with a policy like that, but then again you also miss out on the McGivern's, and I'd rather have seen one of our youth defenders given a run instead of that waster.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 1 July 2010 Author Posted 1 July 2010 at the end of the day if he does decide to come here he will have a much better squad to work with than he had at swansea. he will hopefully get us playing real football and not just hoofing it to howard alll the time. we saw last season how good richie wellens is at finding the killer pass so if we can hang on to fryatt we will have no trouble scoring. the reason swansea wernt scoring was becase they played shefki kuqi ffs. i just hope that if he does have money to spend he goes back to swansea and brings ... nathan dyer, angel rangel, ashley williams, darren pratley & david cotteril
Collymore Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 . i just hope that if he does have money to spend he goes back to swansea and brings ... nathan dyer, angel rangel, ashley williams, darren pratley & david cotteril Well I think it's pretty common knowledge that he won't

So dont blame the lack of goals on crap players not the manager when the manager signed those crap players!

Wouldn't it be funny if it turned out he was staying at Swansea?
morris1234 Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 to be honest only time will tell! most of us were unsure of pearson when he first signed. i think sousa is a good manager and would be my second choice behind sean o'driscoll!
