Looks like Sousa is the man

I can see sousa just being a yes man for mandaric! agreeing to his transfer idea`s which I dont think pearson was! not liking this!

But I think that Sousa would be happy for MM to organise transfers such as Davids or Pires whereas NP obviously was not.

"He has also battled his way back from the disappointment of being axed by QPR after less than five months last year following a fall out with the club's owners. "

Anybody find this bit somewhat worrying......

Yes was thinking the same. If he comes to Leicester it will be like someone with a nut allergy getting a job at the KP factory

I'm pretty sure everyone's fallen out with the QPR board at some stage.

If it is Sousa, does this add coals to the fire of the rumour that we're getting foreign investment (since surely we can't afford compensation)

Robbie Nielson, Ryan McGivern, Alex Bruce, Yann Kermorgant, Nicky Adams, Aman Verma, Astrit Adrejavic all beg to differ.

Don't get me wrong, he's made some good signings too but it's a bit over the top the way some people are praising his transfer record.

I get the feeling that they were Mandaric signings. I wouldn't say Adams had really failed and McGiven and Bruce were only loans.

still think all this could still be just speculation.. all seems too quick.. thought mm was on holiday.. sureley he would want to weigh up a few possiilities.. unless it was all thought of a while back..

Yann Kermorgant and Nicky Adams don't deserve to be on that list IMO

Neither does Alex Bruce IMO.

Neither do Ryan McGivern and Robbie Neilson IMO

It looks as if Sousa will be your new manager by the end of today.

I am not going to say my views on this until it is signed and delivered.

I will give you lots of info about the man, later today after the ink is dry !!

Are you going off whats been written in the public press or are you privy to more?

I'm sure if he comes to leicester he'll be the best thing since sliced bread.

Maybe mowbray wouldnt come to leicester but He'd be my first choice.

so is sousa actually coming to the walkers because i read on sky yesterday that swansea have had no approach?

No one other than Mandaric knows any thing else is just speculation.

agree.... and Verma, he was never meant to be short term

The fact is that out of the many players that have been signed in Pearson's reign, there are a fair few that are debatable and certainly some that are failures.

If people are going to site Waghorn, Davies, Cleverly as succesful signings, then McGivern and Bruce can be used as examples of unsuccesful.

Aman Verma is 22 years old. In footballing terms, the 'one for the future' tag is usually associated with 17/18 yr olds.

Trust me Mowbray is not the man! my step dad supports celtic and I Often would sit and watch a game or two with him, Don`t rate him as manager, poor signing`s, poor tatics and In my opinion not very good at dealing with the media! yes he got west brom promoted but with a squad better than ours i think!

He didn't set the world alight, but he certainly done the job

Easily one of the best choices out there currently.

Well pleased if this comes off, the lack of goals for Swansea was down to having no strikers.

Sousa will do better than Pearson at Hull

Would be better than a lot of names out there, although I wonder if some people would be quite so excited if his name was Frank Grimes or something

Alright lads, Swans fan here. Just to let you know my views on Sousa in case you are interested.

I don't think he's as good as Pearson but he would be a good appointment for you.

The positives are he will organise a defence very well (which you seem to have already so I guess he'll just keep it organised) and he does improve players a lot especially defenders.

The negatives are he hasn't got any knowledge in the transfer market. Have you got a good scout? He prefers the contintenal style whereby he does the coaching but other people sort out players being signed etc.

The other big negative with him is he does approach games with a very negative mentality. Even at home. Most of our players were used to attacking constantly under Martinez and our biggest asset is still our midfield (got three quality wingers in Dyer, Cotterill and Van der Gun) plus some very good central midfielders.

Despite this he doesn't let his wingers get forward much, he plays 451 - he wants the wingers to protect the full backs which is fair enough but he hardly lets them over the halfway line unless they've got the ball so we lack numbers because there isn't any support for a lone striker in that situation. That's a big shame because our wingers are exciting so they have been held back a lot with his refusal to attack teams.

We haven't got strikers but it's definitely the mentality going into matches that has held us back from scoring more goals. He is still inexperienced though so he might learn (although he didn't in the last game of the season we had to win).

As I said though, he will organise a team very well and you'll be hard to beat. The ball will be on the floor which is a positive but it will be too patient a lot of the time and the team won't be encouraged to get forward in numbers which decreases the goal count a lot. It's good away from home though. He will stabilise the ship anyway.

People say he has negative tactics but that might be down to how he rates his players. I mean with Kuqi and Beattie up front you're better off playing defensive because they're not going to bang in 25 each a season are they, might aswell play for the 1-0 and shut up shop because you can't rely on them to head the attack.

We have a couple more quality players imo so hopefully (if he comes) he'll realise this and maybe be a bit more adventurous. I mean we've got some quality passers of the ball in our squad so this continental football might suit us and Fryatt prefers the ball on the ground so it sounds like a good match.

He'll fit in a treat then.

If Sousa comes, Tunchev gets healthy, Hobbs stays healthy all season, King gets a little stronger, Wellens stops getting booked, Weale keeps up his good play and Milan signs Cafu or Bixente Lizarazu with the money we receive from a Fryatt transfer ...

... Does that mean we could play an entire season neither conceding nor scoring a goal?

We used to in Steve Walsh (not our former defender Steve Walsh but the other one). Unfortunately he left with Pearson and Shakespeare to Hull :(

Cheers for the assessment!
