buzzy Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 plus a couple of spells as WBA & newcastle caretaker manager, a spell as assistant manager at WBA when they pulled of the "great escape" in 2005, Manager of Carlisle when they survived on the final day with the jimmy glass goal. so are you saying you don't want him. who do you want
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 seems pretty certain now. 606 post reckons Pratleys Forest move is on hold because he'd rather a move to us ?
Alexikokopops Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Since first post about Sousa on wikipedia the page has been edited twice first removing any reference to him as Leicester manager and then putting it back on saying he will be confirmed as manager tomorrow. They do use the dates 01/06 and 02/06 so not 100% sure this is right but would be surprised if wikipedia is wrong as they are known to be a fact based web site.
dandannieldanok Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 seems pretty certain now. 606 post reckons Pratleys Forest move is on hold because he'd rather a move to us ? Love that to be true, Pratley is excellent at this level.
RedHux Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 seems pretty certain now. 606 post reckons Pratleys Forest move is on hold because he'd rather a move to us ? It's all agreed and settled. We're going to have a decent midfield next year if him and Whittingham signs (as is hotly tipped). That said, it is silly season.

Yup, I've heard that Pratley want's to follow Sousa if he comes to the walkers. Also heard that his move to Forest is in doubt, as Celtic are very interested too.

Babylon Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Right... lets get a few things clear. Wikipedia, 606 and football rumours are compete horse shit, stop linking these pages and stop talking about them as though they are bloody gospel.

Some people are only speculating, which isn't against the law. 606 came up trumps on the Pearson to Hull story.

Alexikokopops Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Complete* Horse Shit. That's one example. I'm pretty sure if I could be bothered I could find about 4000 examples of horse turd.

[1] Absolutely NO rumours to be posted from the Football-Rumours website. ..... Rumours only from somewhat credible sources, please. Wikipedia is not credible and neither is 606 in my opinion. Someone posted the story on 606 after reading it on another site. If you want to believe them all the time knock yourself out, but those who start wanking furiously about something a random pleb made up on wiki or 606 need to get a grip.
1964FOX Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 It's all good fun, anyone who knows how to edit wikipedia could they please put on that MM has left.

I reckon you'll go up, as much as I hate to say it. However, They are no Wellens and King (The White Essien) Yeah what wiki says goes. Some brilliant reads on there atm. Football rumours also looking pretty tasty 606 one of the best going.

Koke Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 Man Love if Sousa comes. If he comes and it all goes tits up, at least we can now boast that we have the best looking manager in the league

Prospero Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 For what it is worth, amongst all the speculative innuendo, here is my opinion. Nothing original I know but it helps me to make sense of our current situation. You cannot blame a successful manager for wanting to move to a 'bigger club', even though they have only been in their present post for two years. Here is the riddle: despite their recent premiership status, Hull is not a step up, except for the fact that they have a certain amount of cash in hand. Pearson is no fool and he knows that he has the support of the Leicester fans and that a second promotion with Leicester will secure his reputation. Why start all over again with a new club and new fans and especially a club that has just come down from the top league? He did not get them there but he will be expected to get them back. Their rise will not be his own work. There is more excitement and kudos in being the manager who restores Leicester to the premiership, given our history, from League 1. If Milan had wanted to keep Pearson he would have done it, for the long term financial security of the club and because I do believe that he is a true football fan. He would have found the necessary resources. So I conclude that he did not rate Pearson highly enough to persuade him to stay, once the alternative offer was made and perhaps he was disquieted by his manager's interest. Hence Pearson's stated surprise that Leicester City did not try harder to keep him. For Milan, Pearson had failed to deliver promotion and I suspect he was seen as too dour and too reserved an Englishman. If he wanted to leave...then he could. Pearson says that he was persuaded by Hull's enthusiasm. This sounds like a rationale and their fans, so far, are anything but convinced. I am very, very grateful to Nigel pearson for the last two years but something and I cannot really think it is vanity has led him to be outmanoeuvred by Milan who is now free to appoint someone he believes will do even better and someone more flamboyant and less English. Cue, a young, smartly dressed, debonair foreigner with a promising, if short, track record. Whether it will turn out to be flair and substance we will have to wait and see. I hope it will be so. I also wish Nigel Pearson and Hull the best of luck, providing it is not at our expense. Actually, I suddenly feel sorry for Pearson. I do not think that this is what he really wanted. But as others have said, the past is now the past and we live in the present, with the new season about to begin.
