Looks like Sousa is the man

Not that experienced as a manager but everyone has to get that from somewhere. Apart from his ability as a manager it's critical that he can retain a relationship with Mandaric/Hoos and any new owner.

I must admit this worries me a little. He fell out with the QPR board and there has been reported unrest between him and the current Swansea chairman for some months now. He may be a friend of Milans but for how long?

I love the idea of going out and butchering a few hookers but do wonder if lorry drivers have left enough alive on the streets? Do we really need the excuse of a 0-0 draw or could we settle for a disappointing pre-season showing against Sunderland?

Ultra, are there many prostitutes still plying trade in Leicester?

Our first ever non-British manager?

Peter Taylor was an alien.

Can't wait for the next installment of Walshy's "Sore" articles

I think it's safe to say whoever we appoint will fall out with Milan, it's only a matter of time with everyone.

I still think the loss of Walsh will hit us the hardest. Not many Swansea fans rate his signings. :o

Sousa's record in the transfer market is woeful, and personally I don't trust him spending our cash on expensive, over-rated players for another season. He doesn't seem to have any contacts, despite his legendary status.

Who was it who months ago claimed that if pearson didn't get us promoted then he would be sacked? Not exactly a sacking but can't help but think mm could of tried harder to keep him....

But it would mean the club living outside of its means. Pearson wanted a new contract that included a higher basic wage and most pertinently, transfer budget promises. I would have agreed that Mandaric didn't do enough had he not offered Pearson a new contract, but he did and it included a pay-rise so it was hardly a derisory offer. It was rejected and the only way it would have been acceptable for Pearson was to promise transfer money that isn't available and transfer security that is impossible to grant. The club did all it could, dictated by the financial situation, and unfortunately it wasn't enough.

Had Mandaric rejected Hull's approach, in a year's time Pearson would be out of the door without us receiving a penny. If that had happened Mandaric would get slaughtered by the fans, he was in a lose-lose situation as soon as Pearson outlined his intentions by rejecting a contract. Mandaric cut his losses and to be perfectly honest I would have done the same no matter how good Pearson has been.

Only thing that worries me about Sousa is that his transfer record is not a patch on Pearson's.

i already heard that some bookmakers wernt taking bets on him becoming the new manger and i also heard that he was milan mandaric's vip guest when we played cardiff in the play off home leg, so with this saying he spent 'all day in talks' and that he has 'agreed', looks like we have our new man.

whats your thoughts ?

"He has also battled his way back from the disappointment of being axed by QPR after less than five months last year following a fall out with the club's owners. "

Anybody find this bit somewhat worrying......

As far as "foreign" managers go, we've had plenty, we've even had some from other galaxies. To name but a few:

The aforementioned O'Farrell (Northern Irish)

Jock Wallace (Scottish)

Frank McClintock (Scottish)

Matt Gillies (Scottish)

Craig Levein (Planet Zog)

Peter Taylor (Uranus)

I think we could dutifully accomodate a Portuguese.

If it was any other club than QPR I'd be worried, as it's that circus...........well anyone would have trouble keeping on the straight and narrow there.

With the amount of managers QPR get through, I think it's more a case of the owners there having an ability to fall out with someone in an empty phone box with no money rather than anything else.

Yes was thinking the same. If he comes to Leicester it will be like someone with a nut allergy getting a job at the KP factory

I think Sousa would be a good capture for City, but I won't be getting excited until it happens. Rumours are what they are......rumours.

It looks as if Sousa will be your new manager by the end of today.

I am not going to say my views on this until it is signed and delivered.

I will give you lots of info about the man, later today after the ink is dry !!

it's quite amusing reading objections to sousa based on 'having to suffer 0-0's and 1-0's' - when we have never really been a team that wins by massive margins,

last season we had the 9th ranked attack (17th away from home) and our total goals per game rank was 21st - so it's not exactly like we are used to witnessing goalfests as city fans.

comparatively, swansea certainly had a lot of 0-0's and failed to score in 39% of their games, but they still did ok, and actually lost fewer games than us.

for the record, the third best attacking team was blackpool, would any 0-0 complainists prefer us to have their manager?

Agree. We were hardly playing exciting football ourselves. And we won most of our games by the odd goal.

Robbie Nielson, Ryan McGivern, Alex Bruce, Yann Kermorgant, Nicky Adams, Aman Verma, Astrit Adrejavic all beg to differ.

Don't get me wrong, he's made some good signings too but it's a bit over the top the way some people are praising his transfer record.
