Have to say, I've not seen anybody with even a passing resemblance to that pair (or pair of pairs, even!) hanging round Chatteris on a Saturday night.

Someone who knows the fens well enough to know women from chatteris are not like that.i was going on the inbred theme re my sisters snogging!

Seems like an alright guy based on his easy to look at avatar.

Calm voice in a sea of hysteria

Bit too lefty but donated a tenner to my Kilimanjaro climb so he has my respect.

Miles off his online persona.

Emmental nosher who probably has a nice timepiece

Committed long distance fan (can't remember why Leicester though)

Like looking at his music tips - provides an occasional nugget

I'm intrigued... (particularly as we haven't met!)

Darn... I forgot to put "probably" in brackets...!!!

Interesting. I'm pretty much the same on here as I am off it - whether that's a good or bad thing I don't know!

As for you - we've had our differences but you seem a decent chap - I kind of imagine you wearing a tweed suit sitting in coffee shops reading classic literature. Bit like Valerenga come to think of it!

Decent bloke who likes to travel which probably makes me think he is a bit of a hippy at heart. Has a passion for music that appears to be slightly disillusioned at the moment.

Disillusioned about this country. Sadly it seems to be having a hugely detrimental effect on his character if he feels sending a text to his mate at the end of a football match spouting the following odious bile is anything to go by...

"I genuinely hope this ref gets a really serious cancer that causes him to suffer for ages before dying by choking on his own blood".

So a ref, who's simply doing the job he's paid to do (admittedly perhaps not to the standard you'd like), deserves this?! Sick.

I related that here cos some people don't seem to realise the emotional impact that one decision by another human being and the impact it has on a football match can have.

Let's face it, few people can say they haven't thought or said probably unnacceptable things in the heat of the moment that they clearly wouldn't believe in a normal situation.

And yeah, you're right: disillusioned about pretty much everything. But as long as I can keep on going out and getting pissed at the weekend it wouldn't seem to matter...

it shouldn't have such an impact that you're wishing death on someone for making a few mistakes. Most people on here are very emotionally invested in city but i doubt any of them have reacted like that.

Or maybe i'm starting to lose some of my feeling for the game given what's happened this summer.

No I quite agree, but let's face it I'm not actually wishing death on anyone; a spur of the moment text message immediately after the final whistle hardly constitutes my actual feelings does it?

And you're probably right that it shouldn't have such an impact but that's just something I'll have to get over. For now I can't help but get stupidly angry and thoughtless when things like that aren't going my way.

Anyway back to the thread, seems to look at stuff in a much more reasonable and considered way than many others.

Decent lad but for Christ's sakes, don't piss him off.
