Babylon Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 ian stringer as to be the worst commentater and radio leicester must get rid i have had a enough Tell Radio Leicester then.
wurmer Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 ian stringer as to be the worst commentater and radio leicester must get rid i have had a enough He's not as bad as the last clown...
nuttytimmy Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 I like Stringer. He does a solid job and puts more enthusiasm and passion into his commentaries than John Sinclair for one. He's got a sense of humour and he's a fan. And he has contacts at the club and an intricate knowledge not matched by many.
MPH Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Stringer is passionate about city and that is more than enough for me.
Salieri Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 The singularly most irritating thing about the bloke is him screeching 'its there!!!' when 9 times out of ten it ****ing isn't. <_< Closely followed by him trying way too hard to be funny.
andy_croydz Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Well I like his commentary, he did get me into trouble at the Sunderland game when he wrongly accused Fosse Boys of trying to bring flares in but that was just as much my fault for being a cock as it was Stringers for saying it
thybluefox Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 I like him, he's a City fan and thats good enough for me.
andy_croydz Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 To be fair at least Stringer adds some humour to the match when it's going through a boring period. I remember when I listened to the away matches about 6 years ago, No disrespect to Barber and Sinclair but they were hardly funny nor exciting. Stringer may go off-topic at times but i'd rather have that than someone who calls the game like a programmed robot.
JmorsonLCFC Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Jon Barber was so shit. Stringer actually supports city. I swear Barber was a forest fan
ibbosuk Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 ian stringer as to be the worst commentater and radio leicester must get rid i have had a enough I luv strings
m00nie Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 I like him, he's a City fan and thats good enough for me. +1
The Doctor Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 never mind stringer, get rid of alan young. He may be the best pundit they've had on in many a year but he's commentated on four league games and we've lost all but 1. He's clearly jinxed us
FrankieADZ Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 I'd rather have someone with a passion for our club doing the games, than someone just paid to come in and do a "Job". I dont agree with all his views but I like Stringer,
Isopen Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Jon Barber was so shit. Stringer actually supports city. I swear Barber was a forest fan Jon Barber wouldn't be happy reading your accusation...........he's a Derby fan
Guest Bilo Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 I really, really wish this was the biggest issue facing the club right now.
STUHILL Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Why are people arsed about Stringer?? We got more important things to worry about. I don't even think he's that bad. As long as he tells us when we score, I don't care!
BoneDog Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 I like Stringer. He is part of matchdays for me now if I'm not going to the game and have to listen. As someone said though, he can get too excited too soon by screaming something like "Here's Waghorn, he's clean through, he's got to scooooooore" and makes you think it's a guaranteed goal but he then completely changes his tone and says "Wide". I'm always halfway across the room celebrating a goal before getting let down! I still like his random fan in the stand fashion comments during commentary and I expect one comment every game. It ruins the experience if he doesn't mention at least one random fans item of clothing.
Arkie Bennett Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Being a fan (if he really is - I think he's doing this until something else comes along as he's clearly out to promote himself at every opportunity) doesn't make him a good commentator. He spends far too long prattling on about things that are happening anywhere but on the pitch. Presumably he feels this makes him somehow quirky and different. It just means he misses what's happening on the pitch. He's opinionated, when it's actually his job as commentator to commentate on what is happening. Let Alan Young, who has far more genuine knowledge of the game, do the colour commentary. He has, on more than one occasion, taunted fans with his childish "I know something that you don't" nonsense. There must be far better commentators than this one.
davieG Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 So we don't know who owns the club We've picked up one point out of twelve The team performs in a totally erratic fashion going from brilliant to awful King has had two seemingly perfectly good goals disallowed by inept inconsistent refereeing The Manager fiddles whilst Rome burns Players are putting in transfer requests The Fosse Boys are betrayed by the club And you don't like Stringer.
ibbosuk Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 ian stringer as to be the worst commentater and radio leicester must get rid i have had a enough Don't talk crap, the best weve had in years !
