Finnegan Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 How many times you think Audley's watched Rocky since this fight was booked then?
Samilktray Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Im gonna whack a 10er on Audley, I see an upset here, all it takes in boxing is 1 punch and Haye isn't unbeatable. Audleys a bellend though, but I respect his bravery.
Mack Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Audrey must have a punchers chance but common sense tells you Haye will most likely make him look silly. Just seen the pair of the on SSN and Haye looks 100% wound up about this fight, more so than I have ever seen him before.
Bettsj2 Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Good post this. As you say having had time to mull this over it is all about money, he wont fight one of the Klitchko's in the immediate future as he knows, while it will probably be a massive pay day, defeat would be detremental and would lower his value. And if Haye does fight one the Klitchko's there is a significant chance he will get his block knocked off. There are also a number of upcoming, better fighters who Haye could fight which would be better fights, but they'd be twice the risk and half the purse and whats the point in that? There is a difference between JC and David Haye in that Joe had a wealth of talent to fight who he was confident he could beat, and so fighting Froch was a waste of time. He wasn't worth the effort espeically not at that time of Joe's carear. The Heavyweight Division by comparison is about as weak now as it ever has been, I cannot think of any fights besides fighting a Klitchko's that would land Haye the amount of money as a stand off with Audley. As far as the fight itself goes Haye is obviously techincally a much superior boxer, but as it has been said Audley isn't as bad as alot of people make him out to be, he's certainly as you say twice the boxer Valuev is and also like you say he is a big unit to boot. On top of all of this 10 years of hunting of a title challenge, all the names, all the people telling him he'd fail and never make it, the defeats, the British public turning against him, Harrison will be about as up for this fight as humanly possible. Still think Haye will knock him out but an upset is not impossible. Some really good points here. Looking around the division there certainly isn't much to choose from, especially in this country. A fight in America against Evander Holyfield would have drawn in some bucks but at Holyfields age, anything less than a convincing win for Haye would again lower his value. Other possibilities would be people like Rahman, Chagaev or maybe Eddie Chambers, but these fights are for someone looking to ease himself into the Heavyweight division, not get in and retire in a hurry like Haye. It's a shame that Herbie Hide has stepped back to Cruiserweight as a Hide v Haye fight would have been excellent. I to think Haye will win buy my money is going on Harrison just in case!!
CKB Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Ah this fight is gonna be pure shits and giggles! i can't wait to see Haye smack Harrison into next year and retirement
lildave3 Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 How many times you think Audley's watched Rocky since this fight was booked then? He's already claimed he's Rocky Balboa once!
Joe. Posted 9 September 2010 Author Posted 9 September 2010 He's already claimed he's Rocky Balboa once! "This will be like Rocky V. I am Rocky Balboa and he is Tommy Morrison. He calls me delusional. But when I've knocked him out and I am standing over him, will I be delusional then?" This is actually setting itself up to be quite a tasty fight for a British audience right now, I love the banter between these two so far.
Fox You Forest Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Made me laugh when they guy asked if they would be friends after the fight, Audley didn't answer and Haye said "I'll take some fruit to his hospital bed".
Uncle Monty Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/default.stm Harrison and Haye on the BBC breakfast couch - quite cringey really all this handbags malarkey
Simi Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Harrison doesn't even believe himself when he's talking smack.
sdb Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 both seem like complete morons to me if i'm honest
BoneDog Posted 10 September 2010 Posted 10 September 2010 I'm hoping that Audley knocks Dave out. This is not a world-title fight I expected to see but fingers crossed it's entertaining.
Webbo Posted 10 September 2010 Posted 10 September 2010 Both these boxers specialize in not being hit rather than big hitting. This'll probably be quite a boring fight. Hayes should win it I'd have thought.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 10 September 2010 Posted 10 September 2010 Both these boxers specialize in not being hit rather than big hitting. This'll probably be quite a boring fight. Hayes should win it I'd have thought. Are you sure about that? I think you should watch a few Haye fights. He has a fantastically big punch on him. Ordinary isn't too bad on the power front either. Can't see this going any where near the distance. Haye win in 3 rounds for me.
Matt Posted 10 September 2010 Posted 10 September 2010 I think Haye will win, easily, within 3 to 4 rounds. But my mate reckons you can get 5/1 on Harrison KOing Haye in any round, I reckon thats great value and will be having a couple of quid on it I think, Harrison has got a KO punch in him and Haye has a dodgy chin, as I said I still think Haye will win easy and hope he does but all it takes is 1 punch. I like Haye but gotta question him, what is the point in this for him? He needs to be fighting people who will challenge him, I can't see Harrison doing this I think fighting either of the Klitschko's would be biting off more than he could chew but it's the fight everyone wants to see and well I just don't see the point in the fight on Haye's part.
Edmund Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 The only way Harrison can cause an upset is if he lays one of these on Haye. Brute.
Samilktray Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 This is gonna be such a boring fight to watch, neither are very entertaining to watch.
Matt Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 The only way Harrison can cause an upset is if he lays one of these on Haye. Brute. Exactly why I think a couple of quid on Harrison to KO Haye in any round at 5/1 is great value, I think Haye will win easy and within the first few rounds but there is just that small chance Harrison will lay on of these hits.
poopbutt Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Both these boxers specialize in not being hit rather than big hitting. This'll probably be quite a boring fight. Hayes should win it I'd have thought. you don't actually know what you're talking about. haye not a big hitter?!?!
BHAFC Braders Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Can see Haye winning this BUT taking about 5 or 6 rounds to do it and being floored Personally looking forward to this
Manwell Pablo Posted 13 September 2010 Posted 13 September 2010 Exactly why I think a couple of quid on Harrison to KO Haye in any round at 5/1 is great value, I think Haye will win easy and within the first few rounds but there is just that small chance Harrison will lay on of these hits. Hence the 5/1 odds Matt.
dandannieldanok Posted 13 September 2010 Posted 13 September 2010 The problem with that Sprott fight is that Harrison was dominated for 12 rounds before landing that blow. He couldn't possibly hope to do the same to Haye because if he let Haye dominate like Sprott, the fight won't last 12 rounds.
