ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 we seem to play well at home. we dominate teams throughout the game, have our fair chances, but dont score goals. Obviously we will be playing a strong team. Fryatt will have to start, because Waggy can't play. Fryatt is not good on the wing, and Sousa knows that, so he will be playing him upfront with Howard. Weale back in goal, and keep our original team from our dominant League 1 days, except for Morrison, who I'd drop after last nights performance. A few extra training sessions for the strikers and we could win this game. Also, looking around the West Brom forum, they want to play a reserve team, because we are ''crap'', but we could spring a surprise. Play like we did against QPR and Cardiff, with the help of the fans we could dominate and win this game easily!
1964FOX Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Wanted a decent team if we were away so WBA at home is ok but nothing special. We could easily win it but depends which Leicester turns up. I can't even begin to guess how we will do on Tuesday let alone in a few weeks time. At least we can have a drink in the counting house pre match.
Jackirius Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Newcastle v Arsenal. Birmingham v Brentford. Wigan v Swansea. Aston Villa v Burnley. Leicester v West Brom. Man Utd v Wolves. West Ham v Stoke. Ipswich v Northampton. What shite draw!
Corky Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Thing is there will never be a perfect draw. Some want a big team, some want small, some want home, some away. I see this as an opportunity to test ourselves against a Premier League side, at home, with the pressure off.

MPH Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 winnable game. Few big prem teams gone and a few more all prem ties.. why are some people so negative about everything? wish they would just go throw themselves off a cliff or somthing... thats what they seem to want to do...
Corky Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Bloody hell perhaps we'll start testing ourselves against Championship sides one day. I hope we do, because that's more important. So this tie is something different and we might get a good result.
Karljohn Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Cue the "WBA have rejected our proposal so prices have been set at £25" statement on the OS. As WBA are largely expected to bring fringe players, and second rate shite like Mattock, I fail to see how this will attract anymore than 15k given the current feeling of disgruntlement with Sousa etc.

Lloyd Dyer Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Rubbish draw. ok draw y didnt we get northampton
MC Prussian Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 ok draw y didnt we get northampton If the squad consisted of ten Lloyd Dyers, we'd walk any team with ease.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Watched West Brom against Arsenal today and I was really impressed with them. Not just the result but I thought their all round performance was excellent. Brunt missed a penalty and they created 3 goals from open play. Mostly counter attacking at speed. If Thomas has the brains to look along the line and stay onside they could have had more too. They get plenty of men back quickly when defending aswell and Olsson looks like a rock. On their current form (and ours) we will do very well to beat them. I believe though!
Aixelsyd Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 I know it would have been nice to get a "Lower Level" team for this but ........ to win the Cup we will need to win against "higher oposition" at some point. West Brom will be a very difficult assignment BUT this match is not for another 30 days and a lot can happen between now and then. Remember they got hammer 6-0 in the opening day and it was the perfect kick up the arse for them to get their Season started... maybe we finally just got ours to restart our Season. And from what I've heard Mattock will not feature for them against us as he is only third choice and they have a higher rated player coming back from injury who needs game time.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 I'm not minding this draw too much really... I wanted a possible chance of progressing, and we've got it! Here's hoping this dismal start to the season is offset by a very good cup run!
Jakemoore Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 I am more than confident that we will go out and win this game. West Brom will not be playing their first team They'll play last years team.....the team that beat us twice last year. A Leicester team almost capable (under a good manager) of winning promotion. Physically we have the same team as last year bar a few loan boys and Brown, but mentally the team morale and confidence makes for a virtually unrecongnisable Leicester team. I'm not saying we the players aren't good enough, they are. Just don't be so confident is all.

Here's hoping this dismal start to the season is offset by a very good cup run! The only cup run that could make for the league campaign is a cup ran that ended in us winning the whole thing
