yag101 Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 If I was, I'd probably be saying this on the John Carew thread.
Alexikokopops Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 You make out the Championship to be like a war zone, it's hardly that more physical than playing teams like Wolves week-in-week-out. If he comes here it's good for everyone. Man City because they get rid of a unhappy player, Roque because he gets to play football and both parties because it will increase his interest in Jan if he's been here playing and scoring. Finners point was that Man City don't need to put him in the shop window, so there's no point in sending him out on loan. Clubs will still take him in January regardless, especially if Mark Hughes gets involved.
Cropwellfox Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Sven just told Stringer 'forget about it' when he asked, but then when Stringer asked him that means he didn't approach him, Sven said 'i didn't say that' Think., as per Becks, that's the end of the story. Onto more realistic targets - who are still a cut above what we have now.
Philbert Fox Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Nah we need to look to the future, those two Swedish stars who we're rumoured to be interested in, Guidetti and Avdic would be an excellent combination. Santa Cruz is passed it, why do you think Blackburn cashed in? and why do you now think Man City want rid? nah look to future Sven, get young quality players in with huge potential thats the way forward, the days of buying players who have had their hey day has GOT! to come to an end!

leicesterisme Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Is Roque Santa Cruz really passed it? And maybe Man city want rid because they've got Tevez, Adebayor, Balotelli and Jo. Just maybe that's why they want rid. Just a thought.

The Doctor Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 So he's a reject then, signing rejects is unambitious. so if leo messi became surplus to requirements at barcelona it would be pointless going in for him because it would be a "lack of ambition"?
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 This thread still going....?? Sure I heard this rumour quashed by our manager....
Joe. Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 Not worth a new thread, but just thought people might be interested that we wanted Jack Colback but he turned us down to go back to Ipswich... http://www.greenun24.co.uk/ipswich-town/top_premier_manager_surprised_that_star_opted_to_join_town_1_713393?

Blackburn cashed in because they were being offered 17.5m which is way more than he was worth. Santa Cruz was City's first signing once the money came in - stank of 'we've got loads of cash, let's sign someone quick!'. Man City have probably got the strongest squad in the country in terms of strength in depth (note: not the same as best team), being surplus to requirements there is entirely different to saying he doesn't cut it anymore. You're having an absolute laugh if you think this wouldn't be a massive coup for Leicester. At the same time anyone is having a laugh if they think we have even the tiniest chance of pulling this off. He will probably hook back up with Hughes at Fulham. Not sure why i'm bothering, if you think this would be unambitious you're clearly a muppet!

Blue Bob Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 Sven clearly has some fantastic powers of persuasion - look at how many beautiful women he's bedded and let's be honest he is punching above his weight!! So why wouldn't he also use those oral skills on roque and persuade him to join us?? The man has talents!! We should just sit back and enjoy the ride!
