I think he'd definitely look at the situation at the Walkers and how a big section of the support are trying to hound out the current manager after a poor start, and he'd say to himself, 'that's for me!' and there's no way on earth that would remind him of what happened to him at the club and the fact that he still resented that years after the event and would frequently bring it up in interviews and when other clubs were trying to prise him away, but would instead sweeten the deal

He is not a city fan, has no great love for us and would be taking a huge step backwards to come here. He's a career manager; everywhere he's gone has been a forward step and he left Villa because Lerner's wallet didn't match his ambitions. I would love him back here - it just isn't happening. Saying he is not a city fan and has no great love for us is a bit of an insult. I bet when the championship table is on SSN he has a cheeky glimpse of how leicester city are doing. He thought of LCFC as HIS club, the club he took from the secont tier to europe. He could have quit city at various points but stayed with us because it was HIS club - i doubt he would have done that if he had not grown any great love for LCFC. When he left he went to his boyhood Celtic.....not Spurs or leeds.....his boyhood team. He left us in great shape and that to me shows that he has great love for this club. I agree that he has nothing to prove by coming here and obviously will be taking a huge step backwards and is a career manager.

Don't get me wrong, I would love O'Neill back but you're mad if you think it's probable. And even if he does, what happens when a high profile prem job comes open? We'd never be secure.

All I was doing was repleying to comments by other posters speculating about why Kevin McDonald may have been seen by our club reps. Again I will state the thread is called wild speculation but by ignoring everything else I've stated and isolating one point and brininging it out like I don't know we have a manager that can also be a tad frustrating.

But I suppose in your little cyberworld everybody on this forum has to agree with you or they get mocked and ridiculed. In the real world people discuss things and have rational arguments and try to listen to what people have to say as opposed to what you do which is point out things which belittle other people and ignore everything else.
