What a ridiculous post. Forget the politics for a second, you have no idea what would have happened if Brown played, I know you said possibly but that's just utter rubbish. I could that if Brown hadn't been stupid enough to say he voted BNP, we could have won because the players would not have been distracted. What you've said is the most unfounded form of speculation there is. More to the point, Bothroyd didn't do anything more memorable than the other 21 players, so I'm not sure that has anything to do with it. And, unless you forgot, we lost on penalties, not because they beat us, so why Brown being out matters at all is beyond me. Oh, and there would have been the small event of the final. Sheesh.

MPH Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 commitment alone is not enough to manage a club.. he hasn't the experience needed.. if it was a random person from any other club people would tear the idea to bits, its only because of his Leicester connection.. people are using there heart when they say they would love him to stay on as manager.. He's chairman of the PFA, respected amongst ALL the lads at city, done his coaching badges... what else does someone need to start off in management? How exactly are people supposed to get experience if, by your own logic, only experienced managers get the jobs? The huge issue at city is that the manager just did not have the respect of the players. Chris has that. My point is not that sven is a bad appointment, its a great appointment, but Chris is definitely management material of the highest calibre

Sousa obviously had no respect from the lads. For example playing a 3m left footed stricker, on the right wing - although we could cut in and shoot - what a stupid idea?! After 4/5 times of Waghorn doing that, the left back had him sussed. Eriksson for 2 years, pass experience down to Powell, and i'd LOVE to see him given the chance, as i think he is the best man for the job. However, until Mandaric stops employing "big names" to impress his investors - Powells got no chance.

Right now we are nothing more than an average championship club who were indeed bottom. Expectations are indeed high with the investment coming along, players and managers I believe are similar - if you are good enough you are old enouigh as a player. If a coach is good enough then they are experienced enough. Not saying good players make good managers. It could be argued that newcastle were doomed when shearer took over... but someone like mourinho went straight into a top league team as a manager. It can and does happen.... Top league team we are not. I think with the current owners we were always going to get a big name manager but Chrissy will make it somewhere soon I am sure
