Still rumours flying round of it being Thaksin Shinawatra

This is true. Heard this from someone that was linked to the higher ups at Notts County... No wonder it's kept hush hush. If MM ain't fit n proper how is he going to be??

From Wiki:

"In 2008, Thaksin was found guilty in a Thai court of corruption and sentenced in absentia to two years imprisonment. As of today, he has not served the sentence and remains a fugitive"

I bet you a tenner it's not him

Pretty sure Thaksin went back to Thailand earlier this year. So he's not a fugitive anymore. I doubt, however, that he'd pass the fit and proper persons test, unless the test is willing to make a complete mockery of itself (which wouldn't suprise anyone), so for him to invest would mean hiding himself behind a few proxies and since he's unlikely to actually make much money and he wouldn't be able to use it to raise his profile, this would seem pointless. There's also the consideration that he is in another league entirely compared to Top and his Dad when it comes to wealth. I think if Thaksin wanted anything to do with us then he'd have us all to himself.

That said, anything can happen these days in football as we've seen with Sven Goran fooking Eriksson being appointed boss and when you add a Thai flavour into the mix the unpredictability of it all sky rockets even further. Personally i'd welcome Thaksin because he is absolutely loaded.

I don't think he's quite so rich now. Didn't the Thai government seize half his assets?

Hope the "other investor"(if there actually is one!)

is more knowledgeable about football than the 12 year old Thai and his Daddy who are gonna take over after MM has left!!!

I see the Premier League said Liverpool's takeover could be done within three days yesterday, why is it dragging on so long....

Because the Premier League is a well organised, slick, money making machine that gets the job done when it needs doing.

The football league is like the Primark equivalent.

lol. Listen mate, with the old Sven at the helm it will be worth a lot more than that in the Premier League when you have teams like Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea coming to your ground. I was about to say Liverpool but as Leicester go up they could be on their way down lol

Only joking Liverpool fans :o)

Nothing is ever crystal clear in politics and in Thailand it's even more murky than usual, hence the reason why the Prime Minister was able to make literally billions of dollars while in office. The amount seized was roughly half of his families discovered assets within Thailand which totalled around $1billion. That still leaves another billion in the bank, and that's only the money that was in Thailand and was left to be discovered. It is almost certain that Thaksin would not have been so ill-prepared for the inevitable investigation as to allow a great deal of his assets to be left within Thailand and able to be found. So we can assume that he still has a vast amount of money elsewhere.
