Roy Cropper Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 How long should Jack Hobbs be able to hold down his place in the side with the form he has shown this season? It appears that without a defensively focused manager such as Pearson or an experienced head along side him to tell him what to do such as Wayne Brown he simply isn't good enough. We need leadership and confidence from the back and Hobbs simply does not provide these qualities.
Master Fox Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Hopefully his place in the side won't last much longer. He's another one of Pearson flops that needs to go. He's been fcuking garbage this season, Sven will bring someone in soon to replace him. With Hobbs playing every game we're not going to climb the table. The Waste List: Hobbs Morrison Neilson Burner Weale Fryatt Oakley Wellens Dyer Howard Abe Moreno Vitor Gallagher all a bunch of no hopers. rubbish the lot of them

Wymsey Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 The whole team needs replacing. If Sven gives some of the reserves a chance tomorrow such as J.John and Parkes, they could well surprise him. f;c
Master Fox Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 You comming to the game on satday?? Can't mate I'm going away on Thursday. not back until Monday
Dr The Singh Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Can't mate I'm going away on Thursday. not back until Monday Bastard, I was hoping to borrow a couple of quid of you for a bottle of white lightning. I'm gonna have to sit on the bench at mandela park, sober and alone!!

He is the best English central defender outside the top division, even if he runs like Pinocchio.
AmyLGK Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Aw I like Jack Hobbs - I thought he was starting the shine again - although that thought is based on match commentary's, match reports, articles and other people's comments who were actually at the games that I've read. And, for the first time in a long time, I wasn't able to listen to the game this weekend so have no idea what he was like then. But still .... I love him!
lcfcsnow Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 He's playing out of position and without an experienced head next to him (on the left side), has a big effect on a center half. He has looked all over the shop in some games though.
darko2k7 Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 WTF some City fans make me so Hobbs was Player of the season last year and many ppl were talking about him being a possible future England centre back , Yet a few below par performances this season and suddenly he is " Garbage " and should be sold wot a load of bullsh*t and all tho I agree with some of your list most I feel deserve alot more time Hobbs ( as above ) Morrison ( only good enough for sub bench) Neilson ( Had a great beginning to the season ) Burner ( Great LB ) Weale ( bit shaky on long shots but overall top 3 keeper last year ) Fryatt ( NOT a lone striker And although not played much this season as still bagged when played right ) Oakley ( don't like him but Leeds game turned me around abit ) Wellens ( Agree) Dyer ( best player this season ) Howard ( impact sub ) Abe ( give to end of the season) Moreno ( Agree) Vitor (Agree) Gallagher ( Agree)

MPH Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Such idiots in this thread. A defeat and you all come out of the woodwork... And masterfox..just

Berner is brilliant! Reads the game really well. Dyer, although I nearly choked on my dinner when he scored the other week, is still a very useful player - playing havoc with the oppositions defence and getting into positions no one else can. I think people are being a bit too hard on Yuki Abe as he's hardly had any time to settle in, and the lack of communication must be a huge problem. I forget who, but either Noughton or Davies were saying the other day that the most important thing is communication. So his performances so far may not be representative of what he's actually capable of. I assume he's learning English so lets see what happens when he can talk to the other players.
sdb Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Can't mate I'm going away on Thursday. not back until Monday that's a bummer the team could really do with your 'support'

Roy Cropper Posted 25 October 2010 Author Posted 25 October 2010 Replace him with who? He is the best English central defender outside the top division, even if he runs like Pinocchio. Im sure sven has enough contacts in his blackberry to bring in an experienced and reliable centre half in January. Just because Hobbs is the fans favourite does not mean he can walk into the side. He should earn his place on performance and at the moment his level of performance is well below standard.
Corky Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 He has struggled so far this season but isn't the only one. Last season we saw what he was capable of and I don't believe that was a one-off. Morrison has looked even more shaky and unconvincing than Hobbs so I would stick with Hobbs for a while, having a solid partnership for a while with Davies may bring the best out of him again.
Roy Cropper Posted 25 October 2010 Author Posted 25 October 2010 Maybe with Davies so strong in the air it might be an idea to give Moreno another go in defence?
darko2k7 Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Maybe with Davies so strong in the air it might be an idea to give Moreno another go in defence? So hold on you don't rate Hobbs but you would put Moreno in his place , Are you mental
