Jack Hobbs To Hull

Recommended Posts

Jack Hobbs recentley has been out of form. We kept two clean sheets in a row without him in the side, Vitor gets injured, Hobbs comes in and we concede two in the first half against Sheffield United on Wednesday 10th, 1 being purely his fault thought Richie Wellens. The only reason why Jack Hobbs stayed and signed a contract with Leicester was purely because of our manager at the time, Nigel Pierson. You may say Hobbs is just having a bad spell and his a young talent, but i think, deep down he would like to go to Hull with Pierson and just aswell, Hobbs would fetch quite a bit of money. By doing that, Sven Goran Eriksson can buy bigger names like he did with Vassell. So, what do you think should we let Hobbs go or do you think we should give him a few more chances to let him shine. You decide, reply and say what you think.

Title is a bit mis-leading, not every single player follows the former manager club to club. Hobbs is low on confidence end of. I'm a goalkeeper, albeit sunday leagues, having a mare, conceding bad goals kills your confidence and a bread a butter save ends up turning into a mare. The lad will come good and won't be off to hull.

think this season has been a big slap in the face for hobbs and morrison. they have been gresat for us and real finds for the club going from strength to strength. unfortunately they have both hit poor form at a bad time when a new manager(s) comes in. to be fair this, bar the odd bad games and a hobbs dodgy spell at right back early in league one, has been thier first real off form patch. both can continue to get better.

they were thrown into the lions den way back against mk dons in league one and no one wouldve thought they wouldve made a top 6 championship team the following season. they did it so they can play at this level. they need to find their form, thats all i feel

Why are we even having this debate? Every single player in the world has ups and downs, 6 months ago he was being looked at to join the england U21 team and being linked left right and center with premiership teams after him, every single player goes through these spells. At the end of day, talent shines through and this lad has got soo much.

First of all mate, you need to get your facts straight. We kept a clean sheet Preston, before Barnsley, and there Hobbs was partner alongside Vitor.

And the goal we shipped against Sheff united was not purely his fault, Wellens moans about everything thats a fact.

Hobbs signed because he was a vital part of our defense that season, and was loved by the crowd at the time; the same crowd who are now starting petty threads on complete speculation.

Get your facts straight.

He's been good in the past.

He can be good in the future.

But Tunchev, Davies and Vitor are all more capable players.

I am upset when we sell good players and brought in mediocre replacements, or worse, as we have in the past.

For me any player can leave if it gives us funds to get a better player in.

It isn't speculation that he isn't playing well at the moment.

And football boards don't survive without speculation.

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Hobbs will come good.

Couldn't agree with this more, Hobbs is a class act and I don't think anyone can deny that.

However, the problem he is having with form could get even worse. Wednesday was Hobbs' chance to put in a performance as he got the spot because an in form vitor who would have been selected was injured. Unfortunately though, he blew it. If he gets another chance like that, he has to take it. His confidence clearly can't be that high, and if he doesn't prove to Sven that he is class, when the time comes to get a permanent fix in defence such as Davies on perm or someone else in january, Hobbs could spiral and everything he showed could end up manifesting for another club, which would be a massive disapointment.

I sincerely hope for his own sake as much as ours that he gets back to his old self.

Spot On - anyway Hull couldn't cough up the cash for him at present - and it pains me to say it but I think Peasons days are numbered as their manager.

People seem to forget that Hobbs is still very young so there is going to be lapses in form now and then, consistency will come as he matures as a player.

The class is there for everyone to see and selling him at this stage would be an absolute travesty.

He'll come good again, stronger and better than before.

Hobbs has been off form latley but since he joined he has been a rock at the back he has been selected to partner numerous centre backs since he arrived: Wayne brown,Morrison, Davies and Vitor he has rarely lost his place he will come goood in time but i still think Pearson brought the best out of him. he just needs time.

I cdnt have put it better... I struggle with how quickly some peop;le lose faith in our players

1 or 2 bad games and a player is immediatley on the way out.

Have faith, his class will shine within time.

If we do end up selling him, it wont be to Hull - They wouldnt be able to afford him.

And if we do get a hefty sum to spend on "big-money" players, we have to remember, its not about the skill of an individual player - its about the way they play as a team.

True he is still young, so is Miguel Vitor but he is impressive at the moment, a rest from action could do Hobbs the world of good.

Hobbs will be a class defender - he's very much a confidence player, reflecting the expectations placed on such young shoulders..... you would sell Hobbs so we could buy players like Vassell?? fooks sake....
