Fair points there mate. The animosity from the outside looking in was hilarious but I wouldn't have wanted to be one of the lads on the receiving end of some of the abuse on the old threads. I prefer laughs and witty banter myself though and that does seem to have been a casualty of the culture of less nastiness and erosion of perceived cliques.

Brilliant thread. Face of Kinder takes the prize though. Whatever happened to Smuts as well? Another hilarious poster who barely seems to post these days.

Perhaps they've all matured and moved on to a more intellectual type of humour either that or they're too busy shagging the life out of someone.

Thats great but how do you think that'll change how exciting the forum gets? In terms on the internet its just natural progression.

Spark conversation.

Maybe re-kindle my faith in this forum by sparking some good banter, bit of nostalgia, maybe an intelligent exchange of opinions. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one feeling the same so why not talk about it? It's what a forum is for after all.

Should have 'who's best/worst user on here and why' and then i am sure most users will to some degree actually agree with each other.

By this time tomorrow this thread will have 10+ pages and will most likely be full of shit.

Of which you would have contributed to.

Now that's just depressed me. :(:glare:

To make my forum experience more enjoyable can someone follow anotherofwalshieswomen around and quote her, because I can't read her, thinly veiled, insults because her stupidly long screen name obscures half the post. ;) this is only required when i'm viewing on my mobile. cheers.

I think it's also down to the older posters not being able to come around this place as often as they used to in the past.

This down to diverse reasons - the number of crap threads being one reason, but then there's also general apathy, lack of available time, other commitments like the ominous "wife" so many on here claim to have, gf, kids, family etc.

As always, a new generation of kids and students have taken over, mainly down to the massive amount of spare time at hand (see FM2011 thread for instance whistle.gif).

They are the flesh and blood to this forum and the online world in general.shutup.gif

I joined in 2004, but since I've gotten into the working world three years ago and being massively busy this year with the new job, I find myself less and less able to visit Foxestalk on a regular basis and participate actively enough.

Doesn't mean I'm done trying, though.ph34r.gif

For me, it isn't the same as it used to be. I don't have the time I used to have to post on here anymore but when I do come to post it seems most of the threads have either derailed into an argument about nothing in particular. Or someone has made a comment and everyone else has agreed with it and there is no source for debate.

I've met a hell of a lot of great people through this forum that I still see on a weekly basis, Tommeh, Maybes, Wilkesey, Wils and so on. I think as some have mentioned the loss of some of the core of posters that made it as good as it was in 08 has hurt the site a bit. I guess that forums go through changes of the top posters and if I look at the site now I can't really tell who they are apart from the obvious 'old guard'.

If people aren't enjoying the forum that much I can only encourage them to meet as many people from the forum as you can. I've met a shed load of people from here and I think it only improves discussion on the forum as you know where you stand with people and how can you banter with them etc without abusing them.

I must admit that I've met some brilliant people from this forum and my enjoyment of games wouldn't be half what it is without people I've met off here. Most of the people I go to games with regularly are either people from here or friends of people from here and I have a right laugh. It does add something when you can have a bit of banter with those people, which is what I started doing in the League One season as I met more and more people, but a lot of those scarcely bother now which is a shame.

Your free to air your opinion etc etc, but what are you expecting people to say?

People will either agree and say yeah it's going downhill, in which case you've got a group of people moaning, or you get told to fook off which is something you expected to happen and then you moan about someone saying it.

Like seriously, if you don't like it you know where the door is. I've heard all the "oh, the best posters have left" time and again on other forums and it's bollocks. People come and people go, the forum may dip but it will get better again, providing people don't make threads with no real point or discussion to them. If you're that bothered about improving it, start a thread with suggestions for what might make the forum better, don't go moaning about it.

Oh, and as for the star thing, well you can say what you like. EVERYONE has an ego, and whether or not they TRY to get stars or they post what they think, whether they say "oh I don't give a fook" or not, it will only boost someones ego if they get loads of stars. It might be a minute difference that you don't even notice, but subconciously, almost everything we do effects our ego.

We did. I don't know what the woman's on about!

Lack of cheese? Lack of rep? But she can't have an e-penis. Do e-vagina's exist?

Which is reflecting life, as you go through it doing different jobs, living in different places you make new friends and lose touch with old ones, sometimes you end up with less friends and or less interesting ones sometimes it goes the other way. Same thing applies on here.

I do think though, posters like Bilo, Webbo, LD3, MPH, lcfc30STM, FoxyPV ,Finnegan have probably stepped into the shoes of the best posters on here.

You can't knock the younger generation, as I said earlier I'm a teenager, and there are some quality posters on here around my age, (Samjohnson JCN20 is it?). Just maybe a little education into how and when to start topics. That's one of the main reasons in why FT has gone abit downhill for me, the constant pointless threads saying exactly the same thing.

But where ever you go, Your going to get people who 'want the limelight' and want to be the best. (Im banging on about the rep system)

Anyway i can see where your coming from, i never really used to post when i first joined up but the quality of threads around then were top class.

Where as now you have to pick out alot of crap when browsing the forum. You get the 'My mate says' and 'Where do i find the ticket office?' threads on a daily basis now.

I still enjoy posting and reading the topics on here though :)

Let's be honest, music was better when we were younger, telly was better, night clubs were better, foxestalk was better. Bilo you're all grown up! Welcome to the world of being a cynic.

Can someone tell me what aoww said please.

To what extent? Trying to change the subject or has AOWW another person she fancies on here?:sweating:
