AoWW Posted 17 November 2010 Posted 17 November 2010 Speaking of which, I stumbled across some very intriguing comments on a certain someone's profile t'other day. (And, no, it wasn't my profile - nor comments made by me!)

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 17 November 2010 Posted 17 November 2010 I do use it, but I certainly don't enjoy it as much as I used to. Probably why I lurk more than post these days. You stalker you! Could I add that possibly the reason for change in the forum standard (be it for worse or better for the reader to decide) is that the teams circumstances has changed so much over the last couple of years. If we take it back to when we were right back united - there were some painful idiots on at that time, but these were good for making banter from Then we went down - everyone was looking in to see what happened, there was prolonged debate on what went wrong and what would happen going forward and possibly when things started changing for the better. We as a group were also at our self depraving best at what has to be arguably our lowest time as a club. We then started winning, so it was a proud time to be a poster and we had the Plymouth fans on our backs to check in on We reach the championship, everyone's excited about what could be in store and debates - we then go and do better than we realistically could have dreamed leading to more debate, fun and games. Everything goes crash - Pearson leaves. Mad people start appearing from the woodwork again Sousa's appointed - we get a bit of love in for a while (but I for one couldn't understand why, must have been the pleats in his trousers) Things go tits up for Sousa - ****** start shouting truthful garbage Things go even more tits up for Sousa - it seems the ****** were on to something Rummour a plenty time - Thai's, Sven, Vassell, even Beckham - the clubs going in a direction none of us could have ever contimplated. No one can really complain at the Sven appointment (try as they may), signings are on the whole good (hard to disagree with), we're playing better = nothing to moan about = frustrated Leicester fans (we like to moan really) = reduction in posts in main LCFC forum = increase of crap mindless posts in the general forum. Lets face these things go round in circles - I couldn't stop reading the thing pre and post Pearsons departure and running up to the appointment of Sven and at other times I couldn't be bothered with the site - you feel you have better things to be doing than arguing with a faceless person over nothing. Ok, rant over... for now... Star me
Guest Bilo Posted 17 November 2010 Posted 17 November 2010 Only when you get caught with your dick in your hand Yeah, I have to be careful of that. CRB check out of the window now.
AoWW Posted 17 November 2010 Posted 17 November 2010 To what extent? Trying to change the subject or has AOWW another person she fancies on here? Eh? Now I'm confused. I'll always fancy Stez - he sorted my boot struts for me. Sadly his e-penis was a disappointment.
Guest Bilo Posted 17 November 2010 Posted 17 November 2010 Eh? Now I'm confused. I'll always fancy Stez - he sorted my boot struts for me. Sadly his e-penis was a disappointment. Resisting urge to insert gag about 3 and a half inch floppy here.
Wymsey Posted 17 November 2010 Posted 17 November 2010 Eh? Now I'm confused. I'll always fancy Stez - he sorted my boot struts for me. Sadly his e-penis was a disappointment. There's always other single lads on here
stez Posted 17 November 2010 Posted 17 November 2010 What this place needs is co apprentice thread, a rap battle and the shout box back.
Guest Bilo Posted 17 November 2010 Posted 17 November 2010 What this place needs is co apprentice thread, a rap battle and the shout box back. The All Nighter thread was always good to read through the morning after. Angry ranting at 4am is humorous.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 17 November 2010 Posted 17 November 2010 Resisting urge to insert gag about 3 and a half inch floppy here. Just go for the virus gag then?
stez Posted 17 November 2010 Posted 17 November 2010 *an not co. And aoww was mightily impressed with my handling of her struts that day back in....when was that? 2007? I was volunteered for the job mind you.
Guest Bilo Posted 17 November 2010 Posted 17 November 2010 Just go for the virus gag then? Remember to fiddle with the brown socket at the back as well.

Guest Bilo Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Like stez, I thrive on ladies who are easily impressed. Sad but true.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Although I'm not really that bothered about a forum going downhill, it's clear why it's happened. For every decent poster that seems to stop / post less on here (Tevez, Ched, TPH, Sparky), there's some that emerge that just don't add anything, make lame attempts to be 'cheeky' and use emoticons alot. It's not the people that post the 'who we after?' type threads, it's the one's with zero opinions that have made the forum poorer. State the obvious posters pretty much kill any chance of debate, which is apparently what most users on here are after so desperately. Can't really think of anyone that's joined the forum over the past year / year and a half that's been a worthwhile addition (off the top of my head). Lots of predictable posters, too. You can tell what certain people would've written when you've seen they've posted in a certain thread. It's fucking boring so i just make my own comedy gold half the time.
z-layrex Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Who gives a shit it's just a forum. So much more to life than worrying about some stupid little website. Just let things be what they are.

ACF Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 I'm a firm believer that the younger generation will be better. That's my unbiased opinion. And maybe if Webbo was a mod, this forum will pick up a bit.

Tommeh Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 06-08 was the peak, since then it's gone downhill, no doubt. I've met the people I've met and I'm fvcking glad for it. From aways with Ched, Maybes, Wils, JME, Wilksey, Muz etc. to nights out like Saturday with Tilley and Joe to home matches with LD3 and Mikey, to even living with C-man, and regularly bumping into Fez, Lisa, Kilworth, AFIE, Katy, Kokopops, Sparky etc at the matches.....Oh and using up my whole text allowance purely on MTWG! I owe an awful lot to this forum but it has probably had it's day. I've never been a constant poster but certainly these days I'm on here less and less.
J.Lisemore Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Well, I suppose i've been on here for a few years now, just haven't posted as frequent as alot of other people I wouldn't say the forum has gone downhill as such, people will come and go, its not going to be the same fans on here 24/7. I'm just glad i've got a place to compare opinions about the ins-and-outs of our club
CKB Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 I've been on this forum for abit now was (Tamland) and i still enjoy it, probably because i'll just come on now and again post something and f-off.. BUT the recent utter shite threads in the LCFC section are seriously getting on my boiled sweeties! yes the "INSERT name we have been linked with threads" PLEASE STOP THE PAIN!!! delete after 2 pages worth or at least make a section for that utter tripe to go in??
Finnegan Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Face it. The forum hasn't been the same since Alan Shush! left the club.
Asha Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 I guess it's all about perspective, isn't it? Completely understand where you're coming from Bilo, but from a personal point of view I think it's better than it's ever been in my time here. For a start, (and maybe this is purely the view from somebody not included) but this place used to be way too cliquey. Not understanding half of the posts in general chat because they were intended as private jokes and stuff is actually quite frustrating. You feel you're missing out. It leads you to want to get to know people on here purely to feel a part of future threads. Which is pathetic, yes. Also, it's bloody nice not having every single thing I say being shot down any more. Yeah, course I understand the concept of banter, but when it's abuse coming your way constantly from people you've never met and have no intention of meeting, it's not all that fun. I agree with ACF. I think the young 'uns coming through are just as good as any old guard that have left the forum. Off the top of my head, there's ACF himself, LCFC30STM, Narborough_Fox, JCN20/Jackirius, The 'Mee brothers'....(and many more) who I think are cracking posters with usually very readable posts, all of whom have progressed into more established posters and would probably never have gotten a look in before because there was too much of a cliquey presence. If you were in some form part of the clique, you probably will miss the 'good old days'. But personally, I think certain posters leaving and posting less has only helped the forum, bringing in 'fresh blood' and allowing people to voice their opinions (however irrelevant they could prove to be) which wouldn't have easily been the case before.
