Team news for Monday night's Championship clash between Leicester City and Nottingham Forest at the Walkers Stadium.

Chris Kirkland and Roman Bednar are likely to make their Foxes debuts in the East Midlands derby at home to Forest.

Both players were signed by Sven-Goran Eriksson in deadline-day deals - keeper Kirkland on a one-month loan from Wigan while West Brom striker Bednar will stay at City until January.

Eriksson will pick two from a strong group of strikers that now includes Bednar, Martyn Waghorn, Darius Vassell, Steve Howard and Matty Fryatt to start the game.

Leicester are confident that leading scorer Andy King will be fit.

The seven-goal midfielder had been a doubt earlier in the week after limping out of the defeat at Bristol City with a hamstring problem.

Loan signings Aaron Ramsey and Marcus Tudgay are in line to make their Forest debuts on Monday night.

Boss Billy Davies pulled off a sensational deadline-day deal in bringing Ramsey to the City Ground and the Arsenal midfielder is poised to make his long-awaited comeback from a broken leg.

With Dexter Blackstock now a long-term absentee after suffering cruciate knee ligament damage at Cardiff last weekend and David McGoldrick also out with a knee problem, Tudgay is also a strong contender to start after arriving from Sheffield Wednesday.

Nathan Tyson is available again after missing the trip to south Wales through illness but fellow forward Robert Earnshaw is a doubt after missing a couple of days' training this week due to a virus.

Defender Kelvin Wilson may be in contention. He has missed the last four games due to a back problem but successfully came through a 45-minute reserves run-out on Wednesday.

Captain Paul McKenna (groin), fellow midfielder Paul Anderson (hamstring) and defender Brendan Moloney (hamstring) are doubts.

im not happy with the kirkland signing, the keeper is a position you want stability in. The spurs keeper had a shaky start but they kept him in there and he came good. The problem I have with this signing is that he will get injured so even if he hits form we will have to change him when he is injured and then the back 4 have to adapt again to a new keeper.

Or we could stick with Weale and keep getting lobbed from 30 yards. Weale's form is worrying this season and we cannot afford too many more needless defeats if we want to challenge for a top 6 place. Sven has to make big decisions and if Kirkland stays injury free then we have solved our goal keeper problems in an instant. He's shown no signs of injury problems for over a year now.

Well the least it will do is up Weales game, with Kirkland we have a challenger for the number 1 spot, costly mistakes and below par performances will mean a stint on the bench!!

Weale has struggled this season and we need a new keeper for a while. Logan and Ikeme aren't up to it, good keepers aren't readily available at the moment and Kirkland is about the best we could do.

I'm happy with his signing.

We do. As I've said, we could only find 6 fit subs last week and one of those had never played a first team game before (Niall Rodney incase he's on the bench tonight).

I'll be happy with a draw.

Only a few hours to go now! At uni in sheffield so only make it to a couple of games a season so I can't wait to get down to the pub. Well up for it!

Come on city! :scarf:

Yeah, obviously im bias, but with your injuries, us being at home etc we should be favourites.

Also something guaranteed to piddle me off tonight is Forest fans signing Empty Seatssssssss.

Purely because the majority of their fans will be on the Forest buses which means they dont really have to worry about transport. Even on a night like this, im sure we could take 3200 to Forest.

Our attendance will be poor because its cold, not worth the risk travelling for some as its on TV. And its a monday night. I think we'll be lucky to get 20000 despite Forest filling the away end.

Looking at the online ticket website, it looks pretty full. Quite a few blocks sold out and most of the ground is limted seats.

Forest havent sold out btw.

I reckon 26k with 2500 tree loving bastards

Well considering they sold tickets to students for £2 for the home game against middlesborough and had empty seats left right and centre just take it with a pinch of salt
