Assuming King is out of this one, would like to see Howard/Fryatt start, if he can't get his head up and stop sulking for Forest then I will personally drive him to Reading/Hull.

Stringer said he will be ok for Forest on the moan in tonight so all is good!

Any chance of this weeks lottery numbers?

I think it's too much to expect 2 derby wins in 3 weeks, Forest are getting better. Hopefully it will be a great atmosphere though to rally us. Will naturally be disappointed if we don't win, draws are no longer good results for us at home, we can't afford them if we have any hope of the play-offs. My team wouldn't have many changes to it, and TBH the loans are still speculation so I'm not going to include them. I'll assume King is out:

Weale

Naughton

Davies

Hobbs

Cunningham

Gallagher

Abe

Wellens

Dyer

Howard

Fryatt

The fact is, with the strikers we have they all play better with a partner. We need goals, Fryatt is a goalscorer. If Howard plays like he did against Derby I'd fancy us to win, he's been our best player over the last few games (apart from missing the penalty). Likewise if Gallagher performs like he has done recently he'll cause them problems. Vassell hasn't done enough to keep his place, we all know what Dyer can do. If we kept a 5 in midfield we'd probably include Oakley (which is what I expect Sven to do). Would rather play someone up front who can score goals, we don't want another game like Saturday where we dominate and have no one to put it in the net.

Sadly I think it'll be 1-1 but a 5-1 thrashing would do just nicely :scarf:

Weale

Naughton - Hobbs - Davies - Cunningham

Abe

King - Wellens

Waghorn - Gallagher

Fryatt

I'd go for something like this. Hopefully King is fit. If not, i'd revert to a 4-4-2, with Abe and Wellens in the middle, and Gally and Dyer on the sides.

I'd stick with Weale in goal, but is a concern. He gets beaten from long shots WAY TOO OFTEN, and Forests midfielders, especially McGugan and Majewski can hit a ball well.

I'd drop Howard to the bench- use him as an impact sub, starting Waghorn AND Fryatt. If we've got Bednar or another decent striker by then, I'd start then- we need goals.

My team:

-----------------------------Weale-----------------------------

-----Berner-----Naughton-----Hobbs----Cunnigham

---------------Davies---------------------Abe-----------------

---Dyer---------------------------------------------Vassell----

-------------Fryatt------------------------------Waghorn------

Logan/Kirkland, Morrison, Vitor, Gallagher, Oakley, Howard, Moussa

Think it looks promising with 2 speedy defenders upfront

We need someone to take advantage of Howards flick ons, its simple as that tbh

the linesman :dunno:

sorry, i'm boring, but that was just too easy :D

if were going to persist with one up front then i'd like to see something like this

weale/kirkland

naughton davies vitor cunningham

abe

moussa king wellens dyer

????

i think that is our best shape, abe to soak up the loose play and close down the long range stuff, and the wingers and full backs able to push on when they can.

i'm genuinely stumped re: a forward, sven seems to be ok with having a lone striker, which can never be howard as he can't chase balls over the top, and can't seem to do much more than nod balls to the keeper/defenders unless he drops deep which leaves us with no one up front - if howard plays you have to have waggy or fryatt with him to chase his fifty-pence-head headers.

that said, i don't see any of our other players being able to operate as lone strikers.

4141 is the system norway play, and it is very effective defensively (as you'd imagine), however with Moa, Carew & Huseklepp to chose from as strikers, it is great cause all three can play up front alone.

i don't know much about bednar, but he sounds like a better option than anything we have. but theoretically as long as he can hold the ball up and distribute it (better than howard) there are more than enough goals in the boots of king, dyer and moussa (or even gally). perhaps you could argue the same about gally as a lone striker, he's not a great goal scorer, but i'd trust him to retain and distribute adequately.

Only three players out of position then.
