MikeyT Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Leicester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is confident that he will be able to extend the loans of full-backs Greg Cunningham and Kyle Naughton. Eriksson said Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini had agreed to allow Cunningham to remain at the Walkers Stadium for the rest of the season, and he was confident Tottenham Hotspur would also agree to let Naughton stay with City when the transfer window opens in January. Eriksson also said he was hopeful that Aston Villa would agree to let Curtis Davies extend his loan, but added the centre-back wants to wait until the transfer window opens to review his situation. "Greg Cunningham, almost for sure, will stay for the rest of the season," said the City boss. "I have spoken to Greg and spoken to Roberto Mancini, and both of them are happy. It is only a question between the clubs, but I can't foresee a problem. That will happen almost for sure. "In January, I expect Kyle Naughton's loan to become a season-long one as well. "Curtis wants to wait until January, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get him as well. It all depends whether a big club comes in to buy him. We have to wait and see on that one." Eriksson is hoping goalkeeper Chris Kirkland will be able to resume his loan spell from Wigan Athletic in the next two weeks. Kirkland returned to Wigan for treatment after suffering a back spasm in training with City, but Eriksson said he could be back in training by the end of the week and, if all goes well, he could be back for the trip to Ipswich Town on December 18. But Eriksson is still very cautious. "I spoke to him the other day and our physio has spoken to their physio, and he is supposed to return to training maybe by the end of the week, so he will not be available for Saturday," said Eriksson. "He needs at least one week of training to see how it is. There are still talks about the loan but, if he got fit, he would be available." Striker Roman Bednar picked up a knock in the 3-2 defeat at Watford on Saturday but will be available for the visit of Doncaster Rovers this weekend, and Miguel Vitor will be pushing for a recall after recovering from a thigh injury. Aleksandar Tunchev is stepping up his training this week after his long injury absence. "Bednar got a knock but it is not a problem," said Eriksson. "Tunchev has done a lot of work in the gym but we will see. He has to train on the pitch soon before we consider a reserve game and take it from there. "Miguel also looks better and better and is available for Saturday." Meanwhile, Eriksson is looking at two more trialists but said the cold weather was hampering his assessment of the pair. "There were two boys in today (Monday) but we were training indoors," he said. "They looked okay technically and physically but I will wait to see them train outside. One is a central midfielder and the other is a striker."
Ric Flair Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Hopefully a couple of Scandinavian sorts whose season has finished over there and want in on this revolution under Sven.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 The striker is Jeremie Aliadiere, and the midfielder is Abderrahman Kabous. Both free agents. *I've plucked two names at random, this is not, I repeat NOT, a factual statement and is in fact compromised of lies.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 Jeremie Aliadiere we're familiar with, but his strike rate is awful, around 1 in 7. We don't really need another forward like that. Can't say much about Kabous, other than he is a Morrocan international. Make of that what you will. Depends how good Morrocan football is. Not the worst African team by a long shot, but not amongst the best either. Chamakh and Taarabt are Morrocan though so...

Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 Always read the white writing. I'm colour blind Thanks MTWG, that's 5 minutes of my life I'm never gonna get back!
MrSpaM Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 Since Svens unleased the january battle axe on the players, i'd expect these two trialists, whoever they are, to be somewhat decent, as in better then we have already, unless their just additions to this 2025 premier league winning squad we seem to be building behind the scenes
Ric Flair Posted 9 December 2010 Posted 9 December 2010 What about the rest of the Sex Pistols? Hahahaaaa.
Brenfox Posted 9 December 2010 Posted 9 December 2010 Apparently this guy Taken from a Norweigan site Sven-Goran Eriksson tests Paul Obiefule Paul Obiefule try playing for Leicester, he will among others play a game for the reserve team of English Championship club. By Tonny Christiansen Paul Obiefule got little playing time for HBK at the end of the season. Rolf Magne Walstad, told ringblad.no that it was unfair and denied him this opportunity. Leicester trained by the Swedes Sven-Goran Eriksson and Tord Grip, and betting hard. Obiefule wrote three year contract with Hønefoss BK for the 2010 season.
Wymsey Posted 9 December 2010 Posted 9 December 2010 Leicester trained by the Swedes Sven-Goran Eriksson and Tord Grip, and betting hard. Hope this doesn't mean Sven is trying to match fix the games for us to win them!
