Kitchandro Posted 10 December 2010 Posted 10 December 2010 Have a word, Cov's home support is shocking. Generally it is, but the other month they were pretty loud when they were 1-0 up. I know it was their cup final but all the same...
lcfc"weasel" Posted 10 December 2010 Posted 10 December 2010 Generally it is, but the other month they were pretty load when they were 1-0 up. I know it was their cup final but all the same... Hmmm, they were OK for periods but far too interested in antagonizing our fans instead of supporting there team.
Dan Posted 10 December 2010 Posted 10 December 2010 I know what you mean, I do think we just have a lot of lazy people in the City who only turn up to the big games, but I think that's to be expected, every club is like that. I don't know why people knock our vocal support - I mean it's not good compared to the old days but in terms of other club's home support these days I think it's pretty good. I've been to a number of away games over the past 3 seasons and the home support has been mostly disappointing. Coventry the other month was one of the few times the home fans actually sang at us for any length of time. But I think we're a lot better than most for that side of things. And tbh I think our attendances are decent in comparison too. Every club is like that but I don't get them people, I really don't - it's clearly not a money thing if they'll actually pay more for it. Coventry always make more noise for us, and even then I'd say their home support is worse than ours - you say "length of time", the small-time element came along when they actually sung a song about us for 10 minutes straight. In comparison to this league I'd still say both vocally and numbers wise we're one of the better home supports, I'd say our home support vocally is better than Barnsley, Watford, Doncaster, Leeds, Swansea, Burnley, Preston, Middlesbrough, Hull, S****horpe, Coventry, Reading, QPR and some more, there are sides like Palace, Bristol City and Norwich who I'd say are louder than us but I'd hardly brand us an embarrassment personally.

Stevosevic Posted 10 December 2010 Posted 10 December 2010 We have only given Donny 900 tickets, do we not increase the home areas when we do not give 3000?
jonthefox Posted 10 December 2010 Posted 10 December 2010 The online ticket thing crashed tonight. Last minute rush for the mighty dunny ?.
ozleicester Posted 10 December 2010 Posted 10 December 2010 Looks like its pretty much a sellout... wonder if the club will figure anything out? perhaps i should explain.... for the clubs benefit.... Cheaper Tickets = Sold out stadium Cheaper Tickets = Sold out stadium Cheaper Tickets = Sold out stadium

hackneyfox Posted 10 December 2010 Posted 10 December 2010 The atmosphere at our place is abysmal, I'm embarrassed by the lack of noise from 20000 fans. Even when we are playing well and winning it is poor.
ozleicester Posted 10 December 2010 Posted 10 December 2010 You what? I didn't quite catch that ahhh, a club representative
Rich Fox Posted 10 December 2010 Posted 10 December 2010 The atmosphere at our place is abysmal, I'm embarrassed by the lack of noise from 20000 fans. Even when we are playing well and winning it is poor. It aint that bad I have been going for 30 years + and it was never that loud as people make out at filbert st to be honest, it sounded loud in the old spoin kop but the roof was low and from the filbert st end you could hear the away fans more, the walkers is not that bad.
Ozwin Posted 10 December 2010 Posted 10 December 2010 as if we've sold out! 24k max. They're just saying it's nearly sold out to get you down there quicker and splash your jamiroquais. Yes I am making up my own slang, what you gonna do about it?

samjohnson Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 29,429 give-or-take Bernie's attendance to the game
VampLCFC Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 We've been averaging 22,000 Apparently we've sold 3,000 extra cheap tickets So anywhere between 25,000 - 26,000

Spencer Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 I've just rang up and booked 3 tickets, asked the lady how many are remaining, there's just under 1500 home tickets left.
marbelladave Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 It aint that bad I have been going for 30 years + and it was never that loud as people make out at filbert st to be honest, it sounded loud in the old spoin kop but the roof was low and from the filbert st end you could hear the away fans more, the walkers is not that bad. To be honest I think the problems came with the change to seating. In my youth Filbert St simply hummed with activity, not the singing or the chanting, just the 'buzz' of 30k+ fans greeting and chatting to their mates, calling out to friends and generally just building the excitement. I think it helped that the Terraces were largely open, the whole of the Kop and the enclosure in front of the main stand was all open, so you could choose to stand anywhere from the corner of the Kop by the 'Popular Side' all the way around to the tunnel, so like minded souls could congregate together without hassle. If it was too noisy or too quiet for you, you could move, no problem, there was no segregation so if you wanted to confront the opposition fans, usually on the Kop you could, if not, you could find somewhere a bit quieter. The Walkers is just different, different time, different place, different world.
Donnylad Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 The reason our away suppot will be poor today is because lot of fans have refused to attend due to the ticket offer not being passed to away fans. As a club, DRFC always make ticket offers available to visiting supporters aswell. Actually, by Tuesday we had already sold 708 tickets for the game (our stadium website gives updates on ticket sales) and it hasnt been updated since, so id say we are pretty close to selling the 999 allocation. Further more, after speaking to fellow fans and reading our forum it appears a large number of Donny fans have bought tickets for the Leicester end.
