Webbo Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 The Penalty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MtYlLPHg4I They don't come much softer than that.
MikeyT Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 Very soft penalty, would be fuming if it was against us, but wasnt, so who cares.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 Pen doesn't look any better however many times you see it, Doncaster are right to be peeved about it. Mind you, we've had enough ropey decisions given against us that have changed games in the opposition's favour so karma reigns. The break for Naughton's goal, and his celebration, have caused my underpants to go all warm and gooey though.
Koke Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 Makes up for the jaw-smashing challenge by Stock last season inside the penalty box - where nothing was given.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 Makes up for the jaw-smashing challenge by Stock last season inside the penalty box - where nothing was given. Yup, fair point. For every dodgy decision we profit from, there are probably one or two that have swung the game away from us.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 Yup, fair point. For every dodgy decision we profit from, there are probably one or two that have swung the game away from us. Yeah Andy King has a few dissallowed which would have changed/won games earlier in the year.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 Yeah Andy King has a few dissallowed which would have changed/won games earlier in the year. Not to mention the QPR game where Fryatt and Waghorn could have stabbed, eviscerated and had their corpses hung from the goalposts and still wouldn't have been awarded a penalty.
MikeyT Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 Not to mention the QPR game where Fryatt and Waghorn could have stabbed, eviscerated and had their corpses hung from the goalposts and still wouldn't have been awarded a penalty. Haha!
davieG Posted 12 December 2010 Author Posted 12 December 2010 Going in with his feet up like that against Dyer is surely dangerous play, and it's arguable his feet hit Dyer before he got the ball, mind you how the ref could determine that from his single angle and in an instant
smudger63 Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 Going in with his feet up like that against Dyer is surely dangerous play, and it's arguable his feet hit Dyer before he got the ball, mind you how the ref could determine that from his single angle and in an instant Well my instant reaction, at the time was, that it was never a penalty, but we`ll take it thank you very much. Having watched replays now though, i can see why he gave it. If it was an outfield player going in feet first, the way that their keeper did, it would have been a free kick, and maybe even a yellow card, with some refs.
Lillehamring Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 love the way gally takes penos love the calmness of our finishes love naughton's celebration love that waghorn followed up and was rewarded with a goal happy happy happy
Corky Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 Going in with his feet up like that against Dyer is surely dangerous play, and it's arguable his feet hit Dyer before he got the ball, mind you how the ref could determine that from his single angle and in an instant It certainly surprised me, I suppose because the keeper got the ball and you don't expect the referee to give a foul when that happens. Of the third goal, so good to see us get plenty charging at the defence. Wellens has plenty of options and chose the right one.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 I like how Vitor was in the oppostion's 18 yard box for Wellen's goal. Know the odds of landing him are slim to none but Sven should throw a bit of cash Benfica's way and test their resolve.
Haydos Posted 13 December 2010 Posted 13 December 2010 The break for Naughton's goal, and his celebration, have caused my underpants to go all warm and gooey though. Think I win, nobody else better have made one and i call dibs
surrifox Posted 13 December 2010 Posted 13 December 2010 in the Footbal League show on Saturday Steve Claridge was enthusing about the quality of players brought in to the club and mentioned Kirkland and "Bendtner". I haven't heard anything to this effect and so assume he meant Bednar

davieG Posted 23 December 2010 Author Posted 23 December 2010 http://www.doncaster...le.asp?a=225478 DRFC Rovers fined by FA Doncaster Rovers have been handed a fine of £2,000 by the FA for their players conduct in the game at Leicester City recently. Rovers players were incensed after Isle of Wight official James Linington awarded a penalty against them on the stroke of half time. Video replays clearly showed that Neil Sullivan claimed the ball with Leicester winger Lloyd Dyer going over his body. A number of Rovers players surrounded the referee to protest against the decision with a few laying hands on the official. Its particularly incensed the Rovers chairman John Ryan who was shocked by the decision by the FA, speaking on Sky Sports News, Ryan said, "We was subjected to the worst penalty decision I have ever come across in fifty years of watching football." Ryan as always prided himself on the fact that the players at his club respect referees and do not usually argue against decisions. The chairman could however understand the player`s frustrations with this decision, "When a decision is so absolutely shocking a referee can`t really expect the players to behave themselves. "If anyone should be in the dock it should be the referee," he continued. Rovers are the current fair play award winners in the Championship for their excellent disciplinary record during the 2009/10 season. Ryan as been continuously annoyed by refereeing decisions that have gone against Rovers since their promotion to the Championship in 2008 and believes they are constantly the victims of 'small club syndrome` against the bigger clubs in the division. Monk Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Seems a bit harsh to fine them, given how bad a decision it was by the ref!
Matt Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Ah bloody hell, accept it, we don't get it too often...or should I say didn't. (We've got a few in our last few games) 'It shouldn't have been a peno' (Accept it, you moan enought when a peno isn't given) 'The game should have been called off' (Accept it, In the conditions that were the same for both teams they were better than us) Can a referee win?! Yes, for once I am sticking up for referees.
