Bob Weasel Fox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Good player - not having best of times tho............
Dylan Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 £3 million pound to sit on the bench, and when we do need a goal we don't even try him. Whats the point in buying him if we're not going to use him. And a sidenote on Fryatt- if he was never going to be part of anyone's plans why not sell him in the summer- these few months have made his price go down by a million at least. Thats £4 million that could've been spent elsewhere.
sdb Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 By process of elimination (eliminating poor strikers for gash performances), Waghorn will start on Saturday. Overdue too. G'won Waggy.
themotivator Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 bags of ability, strength and passion. Bruce could see it in him and he showed his quality last year. Hasnt had enough chances, but i think he should have done better with the chances that he has been given.

LCFC_ED Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 gotta start against hull, he played up front on his own some of last season and did better than anyone has this one. he is the player to change our misfortunes in front of goal.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 C'mon the WAGGY - take any chance you get with both hands, you must be better than HOWARD and BEDNAR
Guest ttfn Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Waghorn is becoming better and better with every game that he doesn't play.

Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Did any of you lot see the game today, and watch Waghorns shot practise before and during the half time break? I know it's not the real thing but he was absolutely crap.

Fox92 Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 He is fast and fairly strong for his age. Can improve though. But, doesn't show me anything when he has been given the chance. He can't really control his shots, it seems like he always tries to hard and hits it over. 99 times out of 100 when he shoots, we know where its going; row Z. Hence this post: Did any of you lot see the game today, and watch Waghorns shot practise before and during the half time break? I know it's not the real thing but he was absolutely crap. Obviously he has the time to improve, but now he is here full time he has nothing to prove compared to when he was on loan.

Didn't he score one and make one in his short cameo against Doncaster? And seeing as we won that 5-1 I'd say he could be pretty pissed off at disappearing off the radar. Especially given results since and discomfort of watching our Rollover "Bednar". The bloke's should have been a trades union leader cos he complains about everything. If he was captain and lost the toss he'd be 15 minutes moaning. If only he put the same energy into actually getting the ball.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 As has already been said, Waghorn was shit in the pre match shhoting. Cant see him fitting into this formation though he did do alright at Barnsley. I'd have him over Bednar any day.
Kitchandro Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Waghorn should be at least coming off the bench. Just because he's been shit so far this season does not mean he's not a good player. He was immense last season and he should be being considered. Bednar being picked over him is a shambles

Kitchandro Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Contradiction. Both had good seasons last year, and both have been poor this season. But Waggy tries, Bednar doesn't. Waghorn may miss chances etc, but he has pace and movement and looks far more likely to get a chance than Bednar, who just looks like a massive lump who won't move unless it's towards his own goal. He just doesn't seem to have any positive effect whatsoever.
Salieri Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 I'm disappointed Fryatt hasn't been given a fair crack this season but even more so about Waghorn. Forget about the price tag, the guy should be given a go which he hasn't so far. It's as if Sven wants to make his mark by replacing every single one of our current squad. Fair play, the defence needed tweaking but personally i wouldn't put Vassell or particularly Bednar ahead of Fryatt and Waghorn.

I am not defending Bednar, I can't wait to see the back of him, I can see him going somewhere else though and being the player he was at WBA. Waghorn - not been impressed with his work rate/effort this season to be honest, I like him as a player and think he will get his chance on Saturday, but the signs so far do not suggest he is our saviour, although I would love to be proved wrong.

Maybe he's not our saviour, even if he was firing on all cylinders we might need another striker. As it is we need to buy another permanent striker in January IMO. But I have much more faith in Waghorn to deliver than Bednar, If I had to choose between the 2 Bednar would be nowhere near the starting line up. I'd have Bednar below Howard and Fryatt too. Waghorn hasn't deserved a starting place this season but he should be in contention (at least coming off the bench) when he only has Vassell, Bednar and Howard to contend with.
