B52 Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 With such mixed reviews of Bamba, I'm not sure it's worth signing him. I think Fryatt has mixed reviews also....... I think it's good business selling one for 1,2 million and buy one for 0,25 million. Both with mixed reviews.
david9640 - pars fan Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 "You are in the league below, i am not taking digs at Dunfermline as i have family who support them and i hope you come up as it is close to me. I was just joking, calm down, and you obviously have not watched us because we have not actually launched it up as much as other teams. " Doesn't matter what league your in you have still lost more games than us therefore you are more "used to losing" ,not us. Not getting angry, just don't post things that are completely wrong.

B52 Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 From LCFC.com /// Bamba ‘Very Pleased’ To Be Here The Foxes latest permanent signing, Sol Bamba, can't wait to get started at Leicester City. After spending four seasons in Scotland the powerful defender is keen to prove himself south of the border. An Ivory Coast international who was part of the African's 2010 World Cup squad when Sven-Goran Eriksson was manager, Bamba impressed in the SPL with both Dunfermline and Hibernian and his pace and strength should make him ideally suited to the rigours of Championship football. Article continues Advertisement Sol explained the motivation behind his decision to join City and spoke of his respect for the Foxes manager. "I'm looking forward to playing English football. I've been in Scotland for four years and every transfer window people have been saying I'd be going to England and now I've managed to do it so I'm very pleased to be here. He's a manager I know very well so I'm very happy about that. "I knew the club a wee bit even before the manager came here because I watch a lot of English football and I know there's a big history in the club, and I know it's a big club as well, so I'm happy to be part of a club like that. I know the manager very well and I worked with him at the World Cup last summer. It was a great experience and when he phoned me I just said yes straight away." Bamba had no hesitations when asked about his ambitions for the season and is hoping that the club will reach the play-offs places come May. "I think that's the target and when the manager called me he said that, and I can see that from the boys in dressing room. It's not too far away after two good wins and hopefully we can keep going like that and try to make the play-offs." The 25-year-old centre-back is strong in the air and on the ground and has a reputation for bringing the ball out of the defence, but explained that he'll be mainly concentrating on his defending at first. "People say I'm very aggressive and that's part of my game but I can pass the ball. I'm lucky because I'm big and strong and I'm able to pass the ball as well. The manager likes to play good football and hopefully I can help bring that to the team. "I think I'm just going to try and defend first and then just the pass the ball easy. If I feel more confident I will try to score if I can, but I'm just going to keep it simple." With Michael Morrison leaving the club this week and loan defender Ben Mee ineligible to play against his parent club, it seems likely that Bamba will make his Foxes debut during Sunday's FA Cup clash against Manchester City. Sol is looking forward to the game and coming up against a couple of his international colleagues. "I don't think it could be any better than that. Hopefully it will be a good result and a good team performance, and I'll be able to give a good performance as well. I've followed English football for a long time and I think the FA Cup is just something different and everybody wants to be involved. For my first game to be one like that is great and I think it's going to be massive. "It's a good club and now they've got a lot of money so they've brought in some big names to try and win trophies. I've got two very good pals there, Kolo and Yaya Toure, too. I think it's going to be a massive game, against a massive club. We've just got to play like we've got nothing to lose." ///

Hibernian Fan Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Told you he was class! I don't have ESPN (usually filled with Old Firm scum), so how did he play today? All i know is he scored and the SSN reporter said he looked dangerous from set-pieces.

All i know is he scored and the SSN reporter said he looked dangerous from set-pieces. (From TV) Won every aerial ball from corners that we had and even scored from one. Was probably his fault for their first goal but it was James Milner he was up against so...

All i know is he scored and the SSN reporter said he looked dangerous from set-pieces. He scored after 60 seconds with his first touch in English football haha Looked dangerous the whole game in their box. Impressed with his defending too. Strong and commanding and at one point walked over Tevez like he wasn't there. So far so good! Long may it continue. 250 k looking a steal after that 1st performance

All i know is he scored and the SSN reporter said he looked dangerous from set-pieces. He was an absolute monster. Simply superb. Had a couple of headers cleared off the line aswel as his goal.

DB11 Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Thought it was Abe who let Milner through to easily Yes there was that, but I was referring to when Milner cut inside. I'd just like to reiterate I'm going from the post match analysis etc. but anyway, looked like Bamba could have been positioned nearer to Hobbs and then would have been able to clear the ball; as it was, he couldn't, and Milner cut inside of him.
muzzy1981 Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Sol Bamba 6 shots 5 on target 1 Goal These are stats Howard would only dream of Fantastic debut!!! (Hope Sven brings in anew target man to replace Howard, he's an embarrasment) Brilliant efford today boys, Wellens outstanding!
