Spudulike Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 forewarned is forearmed,no bitterness, yes 250k is a lot of money to any team in the spl, only giving you the heads up. ONCE AGAIN THANKS FOR THE CASH, How many games has he played for you this season ?? Is he your first choice ??
Narborough_fox Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 He must be shit, he played for Ivory Coast at the World Cup.
Aylestone Fox Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 I've not seen this guy play so cant pass comment, yet. It does worry me that we're recruiting from the Scottish league, not a place to get the quality we're meant to be looking to sign to get in the Prem. There's not many gems come from there, hopefully Sven's judgement will prevail and he'll prove to be an asset for the club. If there's not going to be lots of activity in the transfer market, lets at least get one name of proven quality on board. Cracking win today against a form team, another toughie on Monday though,...keep it up Blue Boys....

B52 Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 , I don't think the scottish league has many gents able to manage an Ivory Coast player..... If Sven thinks 250K is worth to try I believe he turns it into a few millions.
volpeazzurro Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Stats don't lie. Last season with 45 goals against, we had statistically the 4th best defence in the league under Pearson. In other words we wern't that far away, so whar happened there then? First we had Sousa who thought we could turn our centre backs into Rio Ferdinands or other certain 'continental comfortable on the ball going forward players'.They couldn't do it and lost confidence. It wasn't their fault, you can't expect champagne football from beer money players! Instead of taking stock and realising that we just needed a little tweeking, messr's Sousa and Ericsson decide between them that we need a completely new defence. Naughton looks a fantastic player for me and has a good career ahead of him. Davies, my WBA season ticket holder friend reminds me, commanded a £12m fee for a reason i.e. he's very good BUT also very injury prone (hence only a few games for Villa). Just as he gets fit and starts to put in very good performances, he'd break down (always has done) so possibly not the end of the world that he's on his way. Hobbs with Morrison are good enough (and they are our players and appear to want to be here). Cunningham is promising and it it tragic that he's received such a bad injury today but... Berner, who for me was previously one of our players of the season last year, is already far better. We play for now, not the future and need stability in defence. MEE was Svens youth team captain at Man City and could be a good prospect but we don't need BAMBI or what ever his name is, we've already got better by the sounds of it. By sticking with the same defence today it paid dividends. Sol Bamba just sounds like another addition to Svens circus. We have more priority areas to worry about, Fryatt (sold), Waghorn and Vassell will all score if given the service, therein lies the problem! Cheers.
hibs lad Posted 1 January 2011 Author Posted 1 January 2011 He must be shit, he played for Ivory Coast at the World Cup. didn't play in the world cup, never got off the bench.some of these african sides have some really poor players, plus he goes away for every ivory coast get together,he'll miss at least 8-10 games a season on international jolly ups.Lets give it a few months and we'll speak again, hope it proves a good deal for you cause i like sven, but can't help but think we're laughing all the way to the bank, ps,i'd have been delighted to get the 50k back we paid for him.Good luck
filbertway Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 I like how some of our fans assume it's sour grapes rather than the player just being average. He sounds pretty hench though.
Hibernian Fan Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 I, as you can tell by my name, am a Hibernian fan aswell. And i will give you my honest opinion on Bamba and the transfer. As Hibs Lad said, he can be a bombscare, it was completely his fault for Dundee United's first goal on Wednesday. But he is a fantastic player and has been a rock for us and quite often plays at a higher quality than a lot of our team and i have often tipped him to play at a higher level, as has Drogba and his other International teamates. When i found out today that he was leaving i was utterly gutted, especially after seeing how bad our defence has been lately, mainly down to our fullbacks Hart and Grounds, the latter on loan from Middlesborough. Yes the SPL is a really poor league but Bamba imo should be at a higher level and merits a move down South. He will make the odd mistake but if Sven can get him playing well with confidence then he will be a great player for you and i believe will be good enough for the English Premierleague. And £250k is, i suppose a decent sum of money for us to receive with his contract almost up, but you are still getting him for a bargain. Before the World Cup there were strong rumours of him moving to France or Blackburn for a few million. And to whoever said £250k is a lot for an SPL team, you are right but we have received £4.4m for Scott Brown, £3.5m for Steven Fletcher, £2m for Kevin Thomson.......Hearts got £9m for Craig Gordon!!! So it is not really a lot. I wish you guys all the best in your promotion push, at least you's are safe of relegation unlike us.......
Ashley Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Jesus christ, what will it take to please our fans? If we signed Messi or C.Ronaldo it wouldn't please some people on here.
Cropwellfox Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Jesus christ, what will it take to please our fans? If we signed Messi or C.Ronaldo it wouldn't please some people on here. Messi drifts in and out of games, and as for Ronaldo. Set pieces are hit and miss

miles2lcfc Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Football a game of opinions proved by Hibees: 'can't help but think we'll be laughing all the way to the bank' 'But he is a fantastic player and has been a rock for us' Who to believe - we'll see I suppose.
