leicesterseddon Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 After some classic pub talk, my mate claims that fox (the American TV company) are planning a legal case against us over the nickname foxes. Obviously, we told him he was chatting nonsense and 'fox' and 'foxes' are different words. But, he is absolutely adamant that this is the case. Just wondered if anyone had any information regarding this issue, (please prove him wrong ) and what happens to websites like foxestalk? Do they have to change name too? Mate, I think he was pulling your leg...
Pegosteve Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 Not sure how long we have been called the Foxes. The Filberts was our nickname certainly up until the 70's to my knowledge. I don't really know when it changed to the foxes and who decided. Some help here please.
dannythefox Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 What a load of crap, why would they be bothered that were called the foxes when there called fox i could understand it if we were in the tv business! Were not in the tv business and we dont sell biscuits, WERE THE MIGHTY LEICESTER CITY AND WERE CALLED THE FOXES!!!! your mates had your pants down!!!!
Hullfox Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 This is absolutely true. I have come home from work today to find a letter from solictors acting for The Fox Corporation. They have requested that I stop using my username with immediate effect otherwise they will instigate legal action with no further warning. I'm genuinely shitting myself.
The Doctor Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Has anybody warned Basil Brush? is that still on tv? I used to fooking love that show.
jimmer Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 will real foxes have to be called something else ? Joke thread....end of.
The Padster Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 What a load of crap, why would they be bothered that were called the foxes when there called fox i could understand it if we were in the tv business! Were not in the tv business What about if we started our own TV channel ala Man U/Liverpool called FoxTV or FoxesTV etc ? (fully aware this is a looong way away but just posing the question.)
Christoph Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Probabbly wouldnt allow it and most likely would call it LCFC tv or something
Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 is that still on tv? I used to fooking love that show. He was until he got the ass sued off him by Fox Media

Anyone else with fox in their username should expect to receive a similar letter in the next few days.
topharry123 Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 OR its actually made up. by somneone like you who hates them for the sake of it Agreed ! No need to get offensive for the sake of it. We have American supporters who post on the forums and it's unfair to post comments like that, especially when the whole post is based on someone winding his mate up.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 If I was Bristol City I'd be planning a legal case against the other few clubs called the 'Robins'.
haraven Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 How has this made it to the third page Because we're naturally all worried that Samantha Fox will be the next they target after us... that would after all be outrageous.
dave_the_fox Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Posh spice tried to sue Peterborough didnt she!?
