Not sure if that's an older badge that's been re-introduced a la Chelsea but it's better than the old one which seemed to have little to do with Barnsley specifically. The old Chelsea crest introduced under Ken Bates was never massively popular with their fans due to its similarity with the Millwall badge apparently.

I know what you mean about it being a nod to Barnsley's heritage, but I'm just not a massive fan of the people on the badge. Think they could have done something maybe more modern and simple with a mining tower. You right though the old badge with dog is horrific.
