Guest Basildon Fox Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 we need to continue our run and hope one or two of the teams above us crumble, it is that simple, if they keep their runs going we will not get in. We will drop points and so will they. In a lot of ways we have nothing to lose when we play the teams above us, they should be worried about what we are doing at the moment. If we carry on with the form we have had since the turn of the year, I am mightily confident we will make the playoffs. Automatic promotion is virtually out of the window as we are relying on too many teams dropping form at the back end of the season.
Phlashman Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 In the last 15 games we've made up 7 points on 2nd, there's no reason to think we can't make up 7 more in the last 15 games.
Kitchandro Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 I tried to be as realistic as possible: 1. QPR 91 2. Cardiff 90 3. Swansea 86 4. Forest 85 5. Norwich 82 6. CITY 82 7. Leeds 79 8 Burnley 72 We beat Norwich at home and draw with Forest and QPR away. We lose at Cardiff. We flirt with 6th place for the next couple of months but are in 7th with 2 games to go. Leeds have a frustrating home draw with Burnley whilst we beat Doncaster 1-0 away. Spurred on by a full house at the Wharf we beat Ipswich 3-1. Leeds have to go to Champions QPR where they draw, but even a win would not be good enough. Relegation 20. Chaventry 49 21. Palace 46 22. Sheff Utd 45 23 Preston 34 24. S****horpe 34 I think it will be tight between Palace and Sheff Utd. Palace are at home to Forest on the final day (who are already in the play-offs) and Utd go away to Swansea. I think Palace will have another dramatic last day escape. Sheff Utd remind me so much of us when we went down. We draw 0-0 away at Swansea in the first leg and win 4-1 in the second leg. The we go to Wembley and beat Forest 3-2 in the last minute of extra-time, Kingy overhead kick. It's all about visualising it EDIT: I was thinking we were at home for the second leg. We win 1-0 in the first leg and draw 1-1 away
darko2k7 Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 1st Forest 86 2nd Qpr 84 3rd Leicester 83 4th Swansea 81 5th Watford 80 6th Cardiff 80 DOWN 22nd Palace 42 23rd Scunny 40 24th Preston 25
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 I ddi it for us to lose at QPR, Cardiff and Forest, draw at Reading and Boro, and Norwich and Burnley at home we also draw. Won every other game and came 7th just short, because this season you're going to need a higher points total than usual.
The MayneFox Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 Using BBC sport predictor: GD PTS 1)QPR 45 92 2)Forest 31 86 3)Swansea 22 85 4)Cardiff 37 84 5)LEICESTER 19 84 6)Norwich 24 82 22)Seff -32 42 23)S****horpe -44 39 24)Preston -41 34

Foxybeaver Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 Alot of you have Forest around 2nd place I'm willing to bet they will fall away because Davis will have a go at something or someone and their team spirt will drop, their team spirt is the main reason they do so well because on paper the team is pretty ordinary
gw_leics772 Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 P/GD/PTS 1 Leicester 46 25 85 2 QPR 46 37 83 3 Swansea 46 20 81 4 Leeds 46 18 81 5 Nott'm Forest 46 26 79 6 Burnley 46 20 79 7 Norwich 46 18 79 8 Cardiff 46 18 79 ......... 21 S****horpe 46 -30 50 22 Bristol City 46 -24 43 23 Crystal Palace 46 -41 35 24 Preston 46 -42 33 Very difficult to not let the blue tinted specs come out, but i got the majority of the top 6 results this weekend... so heres hoping
Kitchandro Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 Alot of you have Forest around 2nd place I'm willing to bet they will fall away because Davis will have a go at something or someone and their team spirt will drop, their team spirt is the main reason they do so well because on paper the team is pretty ordinary Last season I thought they played some great football but there was a reason they were so poor away from home and I put that down to a lack of fight and team spirit. I remember the game with us, we went 1-0 up and all of a sudden they didn't want to play. They caved in, just as they did in the league because at one point they were in 2nd and looked like they were going up. Then they bottled it in the play-offs as well. Most of the time it looks as if their goalie is the only one who wants to fight.
One Arm Babba Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 A little crazy but... 1 QPR 91pts 2 LEICESTER 87pts 3 Notts Forest 86pts 4 Cardiff 86pts 5 Norwich 82pts 6 Leeds 79pts

artursteppe Posted 14 February 2011 Posted 14 February 2011 Projected league tables based on actual statistics:- 1. Analysis base, since Sousa left. 1. Nottingham Forest 88 2. Q P R 86 3. Cardiff 82 4. Norwich 80 5. Leeds 79 6. Leicester 77 7. Swansea 76 This is the pessimists table! 2. Analysis base, current form ( last seven matches ). 1. Forest 99 2. Leicester 89 3. Q P R 88 4. Cardiff 88 5. Norwich 80 6. Swansea 79 7. Leeds 78 This is more of an optimists table! The major elements that will affect the rest of the season are confidence, momentum and strength of squad. Leicester City are best placed on all three points. Forest have a small squad, and extra games to play . QPR are steady and will go on in the same way. Cardiff, Leeds, Norwich, and Swansea, like Forest are susceptible to pressure. If we beat Norwich and maybe two out of Cardiff, QPR and Forest, I think we will get automatic promotion, and probably finish top. Otherwise, in the best assessment I can make there will only be about 6 points between top and seventh - ie 84/85 down to 77/78. One additional observation that could work in our favour is the fact that we have Watford and Burnley at home, whilst both Watford and Burnley with Hull and Millwall it is quite likely that they will take points off teams above us. Good fun isn't it? Anything can happen, but 'I feel good der der der der der der dah, you know that I should der der der der der der dah, I feel nice der der der der der der dah, like sugar and spice now,der der der der der der so good, so good, I got you da da da . Blue Army!
Haydos Posted 14 February 2011 Posted 14 February 2011 Not to be a buzzkill but i'm with the realists here. I do think we have a great shot at making the playoffs and my heart says it will happen. Like has been mentioned though, a couple of crap results and the hard work is undone. But those of you basing final tables on the form of the last 7/8 matches are being really thick. You really believe we'll only drop 2 points every 6 games for the rest of the season? And those who think Forest are the team to beat? Are they going to continue with identical form to the end as well and only drop 2 points every 8 games? The only fair indicator (and it is only that) is our form since October which still suggests we will do well but you can't take our final position based on the best spell we've had this season. If I read this stuff on another teams forum i'd find it hilarious if i'm being honest.
topharry123 Posted 14 February 2011 Posted 14 February 2011 Forest 91 Cardiff 88 Swansea 88 QPR 87 Leicester 80 Leeds 75 Palace 40 S****horpe 31 Preston 26 Think we'll manage it, i've got us losing a few of the remaining games but comfortably winning others. The next 5 games are make or break i think. If we pick up less than 9 points then it's going to be very difficult. We need results in all the home games, and could do with picking something up either at Cardiff or QPR or both because as recent form shows, we may be on a great run but all the sides above us are not dropping many points either.

Sorry dude, read my comments properly and you will see I am only drawing comparisons on two league tables based on the last 7 matches and also based on the last 20 matches, then qualifying those lists with intelligent analysis. Who is the THICK one?

Who is the THICK one? It wasn't a personal dig at you, I find most of what you say pretty sensible and well thought out tbh. You were just the most recent one to make use of it. My point was like i said (apologies if it was lost amongst annoyance), that speculation based on the last 7/8 games is pretty moot as it is not even slightly reflective of Sven's reign, let alone our whole season. Taking into account beating 3 out of 4 of the current top 6 is also blind speculation imo. Fair enough 'I hope we can get 9 points out of 12 against these' but using it as a platform for analysing our run-in is like i said, very ropey.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 14 February 2011 Posted 14 February 2011 Started filling in the predictor but soon realised I couldn't be arsed. Pointless anyway. If I could predict that number of football matches I'd be as rich as Wymeswold.
ealingfox Posted 14 February 2011 Posted 14 February 2011 I agree it is still a massive task reaching the play-offs because the top 6 are all good sides who seem far too capable of winning their games. However, I would like to think that a couple of them could crumble under pressure, which could be massive this season if it continues in this vein. Beating Bristol City on Friday would be yet another excellent result, and because it would move us into the 50's club and just one point off, it would be an excellent way to exert some pressure. Only 15 games left! Also remember although we have some very difficult games to play, these fixtures still have to happen: Leeds v Norwich Forest v Cardiff Swansea v Leeds Swansea v Forest Leeds v Forest Swansea v Norwich Norwich v Forest Cardiff v QPR QPR v Leeds So there will plenty of points dropped all round. I think it will end up being incredibly exciting before the play-offs even start. Keep the faith and come on you Foxes!

None of us really know which teams will succeed under all the pressure. I do believe that we are capable of going to Forest, QPR and Cardiff and beating them all. They will be frightened of us without doubt, and maybe that could all go a long way to achieving automatic promotion. Sven will also know that and so too will the managers of those teams. They will be more nervous than us. It is invariably the team with momentum that comes through.

I agree we could beat all of them teams, but i'm sure we're going to drop points either there or elsewhere. Take the Preston game for example, it just shows that points can be dropped where a win is expected. The top 7 are all on a good run of form so we need something out of the cardiff, qpr and forest games, we just can't afford to drop too many points at all now if we're going to make it.
