nickelbyfox Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Could be the fella who wanted the ridiculous money if it wasn't Owen
StanSP Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Cue another debate over who should take free-kicks, despite not even being our player.
topharry123 Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 In his day he was an incredible player, but haven't seen him for a couple of years so not sure what age has done to him. My worry would be his wage cost. Isn't he injured right now as well?
drc Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Didn't West Ham want him last Summer?? Yes please, his understanding of football is amazing. If he could fit in to english football it would be amazing. He is strong, he is great at set-pieces. Maybe a little old maybe a little strange - but I'd love to see him. Can't see it happen though.
FoxyPV Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 I can't cope with this any more. It's like supporting the harlem globetrotters at the moment.
FoxyPV Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 I thought the use of facepalms was banned (unless in reference to Wymsey trying to post an image)
1991FOX Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 I can't cope with this any more. It's like supporting the harlem globetrotters at the moment. take a seat and have a glass of water
Haydos Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 He's only 32 but obviously he's past it.... This would be incredible and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the expensive player that was rumoured. Again can't see it happening though, wasn't he longing for a return to Argentinian football and he's now at Boca after all. For him surely there's no benefit to coming here.
STEVIE B Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Wasn't he at Villareal in Spain ? He was very good 3 years ago. Can't be much more than 30.
SMX11 Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 He would be immense, can't see much truth in it though.
Cheese Me Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Was arguably the best player in the world just a few years ago. He must have been the player with ridiculous wages, if he's anything like he was he'd walk into top half prem teams. Would love this but cannot see it
Guest ttfn Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 In the extremely unlikely scenario that this is true, and as much as I'd love to see one of my favourite players of the last 10 years at City, he wouldn't fit in. We play pacy, counter-attacking football. Riquelme is an old school "foot on the ball" playmaker, who would be totally out of place in our team of speedsters.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 If his wages demand was too high i'll contribute 10 pound a week to help out
One Arm Babba Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Poo! If we sign him this season i'll remove and eat my left testicle with a wooden spoon!!! ... This is turning in to Football Manager 2011.
