Corky Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 He puts the ball in the net. We all knew he wasn't going to cover every blade of grass in 90 minutes.
Bryn Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 You want him haring round the pitch wasting his time? He's a goalpoacher. Is he on 4 goals and 3 assists in 6 games now or something? Superb return, he's doing his job perfectly.
ajthefox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I'm just going to echo everyone really because you're completely missing the point of why we got him. The formation is such that Yakubu is there to hold up play when needed, spread the ball and then get on the end of it. We bought him to score goals and he's doing that at a rate better than anyone else in the league.
ozleicester Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 This is slightly off topic but I didn't think it was worth making a new thread over. Can anyone tell me why Yakubu was booked last night? I was sitting in the kop but I couldn't figure it out. Cheers A bit blurry... but at about the 19 second mark.. its kinda clear why....... http://s1001.photobucket.com/albums/af138/ozleicester/?action=view¤t=P1100029.mp4 as everyone else has said...as far as im concerned... he can sit in the corner having a pipe for 89 minutes if hes going to score in just about every game
bardonfox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 A bit blurry... but at about the 19 second mark.. its kinda clear why....... Cheers for clearing that up mate. Seems a bit soft for a yellow. James hit the deck like he'd been shot!
blueredswed Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 At the end of the day the game is all about scoring goals and Yakubu does that. Exactly, the point is to score and lazy or not one chance and there is a goal. If he running all over the pitch he would be tired and when it´s time to tired.... Look how many defenders there must be to looking after him! And you see he made the difference in attacks on Leicesters goal. They are afraid of him and if he came one to one

ibbosuk Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Is it just me who noticed that Yakubu dosn't seem to work that hard, he just seems to stand upfront and wait but isn't bothered if the ball dosnt get to him. Is he or am I just going insane. You are insane, but you are not the only one on this board most of the Ricardo supporters on this board are as well...... Don't worry about the Yak he will get us a goal every 2 games right to the end of the season, however, this fine effort will all be in vain if we continue to play Ricardo in goal.... WE WANTWEALE!!!!! WE WANTWEALE!!!!! WE WANTWEALE!!!!! WE WANTWEALE!!!!! WE WANTWEALE!!!!! WE WANTWEALE!!!!! WE WANTWEALE!!!!! WE WANTWEALE!!!!!
MC Prussian Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Best scorer for Leicester ever? 0.66 goals a game - who can beat that?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I dont care what his work rate is as long as he scores. He doesnt win as many headers as he should and doesnt always track back, but he has the little bit of quality to win a game, and seems to have a knack of being in the right place at the right time. When he isnt scoring or contributing at then moan, but really he is quality and has shown that with his goal scoring record for us. Bit like idiot Man U fans moaning about Berbatov, who actually cares when he scores a goal to change or win a game? I certainly dont.
