Petchy Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 We've had those electric ad boards before anyway on one off occasions, so this will more than likely be the same scenario.
Newcastle_Fox Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 We've had those electric ad boards before anyway on one off occasions, so this will more than likely be the same scenario. We even had them at the first ever premier league game at Filbert Street where we lost 3-1 to Newcastle.
John Matrix Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 the old ones look tacky anyway. i'm guessing we can command more revenue too.
ScouseFox Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 hahaaaaaahaha. I love this place. Hostile reactions to advertising boards. You just don't get that anywhere else. Watch the game, not the boards, you might find it's more interesting.

If electronic advertising boards constitute a "problem" for someone, then I suggest those people should find a proper life...
Dan Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Fvcking hell. All I said was they're a shit idea and do nothing but distract you, more so than a normal ad board. And would they really pay more to have their company sponsored on a moving board than a normal one? They're pointless and distracting.

MattyFromLE Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 I highly doubt the players are distracted by TV boards and screens... if so, we need new players who aren't retards. It brings more money for the club so why not? It would happen eventually anyway; we can't have high ambitions without trying to move our club on technology wise too, it wouldn't make sense. My sentiments exactly!
Dan Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 the fact you can get more than one advert on the board means more ££££ so hardly pointelss... True that is to be fair. Meh I don't know, just not one bit keen on them personally.

I agree with this but then I hate all the pitchside and shirt advertising it's so tacky, modern football is rubbish etc. But football is no longer about the fans it's about the players and funding their exorbitant, business busting wages. I don't blame the players because it's the clubs' hierarchy that pays it and they then need to squeeze every penny of revenue from every source they can think of including the fans and in some cases their own bank accounts to fund them. So if you pay to watch you have to pay the price of modern football and put up with all the bullshit that attaches itself to the modern game.
Haydos Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 No different? Normal ad boards I can reluctantly accept, moving ones are fvcking ridiculous, why do they use moving ones instead of normal ones? Simple, to distract you from the game even more. Not one bit a fan, would ban moving ones all-together. If you go to watch Leicester and then get distracted by moving images you'd go down as a bit simple in my book. I'm not a fan of them but if they're bringing in money for the owners then I completely understand.

Being used to just normal boards in the background, I believe having bright lights moving instead can be a bit distracting, simple as that.

thybluefox Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Can't see the problem with them at all. When I went to Man City away last year I thought they were going to be annoying all game but as soon as they kicked off I ignored the boards. They're primarily for TV anyway, hence why there won't be any on the east stand side of the pitch. If it earns the club money, just like the screens, then go for it.

I think it depends on where you sit in the ground if you're low down and they're directly in your line of vision beyond what you're trying to watch on the pitch I think they can be very distracting although I guess over a period of time you may get used to them and your brain ill learn to ignore them depending on the quality of the game, they might just end up being more interesting than what's happening on the pitch
Haydos Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Never drive on fireworks night. Or try and do anything when the TV is on
Onion Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 my family are electronic advertising boards, i find the comments in this thread offensive.

Rusko187 Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Was you looking at the right corners? Were they not only placed there as a temporary measure and that they will be located elsewhere?
