Larry_LCFC Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Hope so. Effective use of them in the long run will mean a great investment. I liked the way they said "Free Kick" and "Corner" cos I didn't have a clue without them. Is slightly cringeworthy i agree. The sort of thing it comes up with on Wii sports. Very American indeed i.e. tacky.
Ozwin Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Was it just me or did anyone else have trouble hearing what was being said on screen before the game?
lcfc"weasel" Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 which i didn't get because someone (not saying it was you but you did end up with 3 pies/drinks) spirited away my voucher. Ridiculous things, in the way, having to bend down just to see past the half way line and the sponsoring of corners, goal kicks, free kicks etc. was beyond cringeworthy. I got my extra 2 from those in front.
Bert Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Just to clarify you're being deadly serious? If you mean they weren't put there on purpose, then I'm being serious. I was told they'll not get moved until the end of the season too, but I could be wrong as this was a few days ago, especially if you've had dialogue with Hoos.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Was it just me or did anyone else have trouble hearing what was being said on screen before the game? No, I did too. Of course it was just coming through the PA we've had for donkeys years. Maybe that should be next on the list? Actually, next on the list should be to raise them onto the surrounding strip that runs under the roof. They look stupid hanging there!

Not spoke to Hoos it's just what Barclay's run around steward was tellingme pre-match.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 I was disappointed that they didn't show the live lunch time kick off before the game and during the game, they could show us some live scores. Apart from that, quite satisfied
Kenners Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 If you mean they weren't put there on purpose, then I'm being serious. I was told they'll not get moved until the end of the season too, but I could be wrong as this was a few days ago, especially if you've had dialogue with Hoos. I went in the ticket office after the match to get my mates dad a ticket for palace and I asked in there and was told that they're working on getting them raised higher as soon as possible. Whether that happens or not is a different matter but all seats affected by them are reserved, Ie they cant sell tickets there but STH are still stuck with it, unless you move. The free pie, drink and programme makes it a bit better but its still annoying.
Jimmy Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 they said they were waiting until after the season when the pitch gets ripped up to put them where they will be permanently so they can get the equipment in without damaging the playing surface
Guest Mee-9 Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Fosse Boys 0-1 Technological Advancements at the Walkers Stadium. On a more serious note. I like them!
The Doctor Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 I got my extra 2 from those in front. So who stole my free pint and pie?
1964FOX Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 They were a little annoying as they were in my eyeline and had to duck down a bit to see the far corner of the pitch but can put up with it till they are moved to their permanent position higher up next season. I imagine they will stay where they are for the remaining games and then fixed to the main structure ready for the new season.
Legend_in_blue Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 The screens are a good idea, but they need to be wider. They need to be 1.5x wider.
ian_marshall Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Anyone think that the resolution of the screens is poor? They reminded me of the colour screen we had at Filbert Street only slightly better. Certainly don't seem to be anywhere near as good quality as those found at Eastlands, Emirates, or Ricoh for that matter. Is this likely to be addressed when the permanent one's are installed? As for the sponsorship, I'm not personally bothered by it if it makes the club more commercially viable.
SMX11 Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 These screens have been rushed in so I guess at the end of the year the quality/size and positioning will be improved substantially.
lcfc"weasel" Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Fosse Boys 0-1 Technological Advancements at the Walkers Stadium. On a more serious note. I like them! Considering they originally wanted us to move to the front and sit, we did well, we managed to stay where we usually are(near enough), stand up, and see the whole pitch less 1-2metres at most. I'd say us 1 - 0 Kevin Barclay tbh.
ajthefox Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 This post is sponsored by Air Asia. bit late on the sponsorship joke mate... This post was sponsored by Air Asia.
Joe. Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 The impression I got was that these screen would be streaming the match live? Would certainly make it easier to see what is going on when play is down the other end. How come now they're just using it as a rather expensive scoreboard? Why would they need to do that? It's not like there's a bad view from anywhere in the ground really. And they're not big enough to do that either, although I'm not sure what the permanent ones will be like. Not sure what people were expecting of these. Why would the club bring it screens and then not use them for advertising? Everybody else does it, they'll pay for themselves eventually. I thought they were decent. Teams, scoreboard and goal replays - can't ask for any more really.
Kitchandro Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 I was disappointed that they didn't show the live lunch time kick off before the game and during the game, they could show us some live scores. Apart from that, quite satisfied Yeh I would like that too. Could be so dramatic if we needed other results to go our way and they kept popping up on the screen.
m00nie Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 if the fosse boys corner had some viewing restrictions any one know how the restaurant got on ??
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 if the fosse boys corner had some viewing restrictions any one know how the restaurant got on ?? From standing at the back in our corner before the match & looking across to that end it looked like the other screen was equally as low. There seemed to be a couple of people sitting on the back row though, that I noticed, despite it looking like they wouldn't have been able to see a thing from there. It surprised me as well because there were plenty of empty seats below them. Can't imagine you'd have been able to see a thing from the restaurant.
lcfcsnow Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Whats the point of showing half time highlights if you're not going to show the oppositions goal? Which was the only highlight of the first half anyway
themotivator Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 would like to see some close ups on the replays tbh otherwise its a bit of a waste. better than a strip of 6 red leds, but still pretty pointless. at goal kicks sponsored by air thailand.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Answer me this. 'What is the point of showing the actual game, on the televisions in the stadium?' I found it off-putting. Replays are good, Showing the whole match isn't. I'd rather we did it like on Saturday against Burnley.
