Ozwin Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 People will literally find anything to moan about. I didn't even notice this sponsoring you lot are on about, but I was, you know, watching the game. They look good, they're not giant bulky things, they're pretty sleek and don't look out of place at all.
Guest Bilo Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 I can see them replacing the current scoreboards long term, being put in the same position. Lifting them a little higher should mean they're less intrusive in terms of views as well. Not a fan of sponsored corners and the like, bit too Coventry for my liking, but I don't have a problem with video screens per se. So long as they aren't used for adverts 85 minutes a game if they do replace the scoreboards, I'm pretty non-plussed.
Finnegan Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Sometimes, Other times it came up with REPLAY and nothing happend DId you at least get goal replays? That's all the ones in Cardiff used to show, unless something contentious happened in the build up.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Yeah, Showed all goal replays (Luckily) Just a case of someone getting used to pushing the right buttons I think. Anyway I like the boards
anotherharboroughfox Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 improving ruining my matchday experience, but thanks Kev, I won't say no two two pie & pints and a free programme
Asha Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 I think the whole sponsoring goal kicks thing is a bit tragic.
Webbo Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 I think the whole sponsoring goal kicks thing is a bit tragic. The club is a business, they're just trying to make money. Didn't bother me in the slightest.
millzi Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Found it quite amusing how you can sponsor goal kicks, corners and the like. I was eager from the start to see what penalties were sponsored by, was happy when it was sponsored by Walkers. I think they're good little things, do everything you need them to. Obviously it will take a little bit of getting used to for the person operating it to make sure we always get replays but it should all become good in the end. Thought there was a definite error when it said S****horpe 4-1 QPR
Fosse Boy Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Clearly weren't put where they are by accident. If they're not moved by Tuesday I'll be pretty pissed off. Lee Hoos getting the round in for those who had their view obscured was quite generous but to be frank these things are an embarrassment.

They'll not be changed until the end of the season though.
Ozwin Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 They're not going to put them somewhere just to piss off 15 lads Was Lee Hoos the small grey haired bloke going round giving people white ticket things? I've never seen him before, always had him down as this fat, balding bloke with no mates and never shows his face in public.

Lee Hoos is on the board of directors, the bloke you seem to be describing is Kevin "doesn't understand fans" Barclay who wouldn't be seen dead in your standard steward jacket. To be fair to the stewards I spoke to today they were ok, virtually said we could move to any empty seats in the stadium. Also told me it'd be lifted higher by Tuesday so we'll be able to see the pitch and then next season there'll be no issue whatsoever, so he said. Yes they were, genuinely mate. They'll not be changed until the end of the season though. Just to clarify you're being deadly serious?

Craig Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 I love the 'GOAL!' screen. A modern twist on the Filbo classic.
The Doctor Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 ****ing shit the lot of them, back row right in the corner and you can't even see the centre circle, still, free pie, pint and programme for the effort of moving forward a few rows. which i didn't get because someone (not saying it was you but you did end up with 3 pies/drinks) spirited away my voucher. Ridiculous things, in the way, having to bend down just to see past the half way line and the sponsoring of corners, goal kicks, free kicks etc. was beyond cringeworthy.
Haydos Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 I don't get the issue some of you have with things like sponsorship of corners or what not. It's just an excuse to get a company name on the screen for a few seconds every so often, it's no different to having ad boards around the side of the pitch except you see far less of it. It shows replays, gives team info etc. I don't see what the problem is unless you set your stall out to hate anything that's not 'cool'.
Bugg Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Some people are never happy. When he had the bog-standard scoreboard, loads of people were bleating for a screen. Now that we have one, it's not good enough; there's too many sponsors, it looks too tacky.
Larry_LCFC Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 The impression I got was that these screen would be streaming the match live? Would certainly make it easier to see what is going on when play is down the other end. How come now they're just using it as a rather expensive scoreboard?

Bugg Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 and were they the same people who are complaining now? I don't know, maybe. I can't be arsed to dig up posts but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same person a lot of the time. The impression I got was that these screen would be streaming the match live? Trav Le Bleu Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 I liked the way they said "Free Kick" and "Corner" cos I didn't have a clue without them.

It probably had some teething problems when it comes to showing the full game and highlights on the screen.
