ajthefox Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 A Premiership football fan is suing his club after being knocked out by a stray shot while watching a training session, it has emerged.Sunderland AFC chairman Niall Quinn revealed the legal action had started while appearing on a BBC radio phone-in. http://news.uk.msn.com/uk/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=156914999 A bloke goes along to watch his beloved team train, Djibril Cissé shoots wildly off target and now he's suing because it knocked him unconscious. Now I can understand why this would be unpleasant, but suing your own team? Is it just me that thinks he's mad? You go to a football match and if you sit anywhere near the goal in the kop or the north stand, you know full well you could get hit from any point between about 2 and 5, especially with Waggy's practice shots, bless him.vIf you get hit you'd be right to expect an apology but I really do struggle getting my head round this. It's no wonder health and safety is way over the top here when there are fvcking numpties like this bloke suing the football club he supports because someone hit him with a ball accidentally. Absolute madness.
The Doctor Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 Saw something like this back in october, oxford united fan suffered injuries from stray shots twice in two games so the club brought her a hard hat.
Houdini Logic Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 I love it when it hits someone's tea or soup all over them
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 I remember at Norwich away in 06, Stearman smashed the ball out of play and hit this Norwich fan right in the face! The main highlight seeing we lost 2-1.
Soar Fox Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 A lad I used to play football with got hit by a David beckham shot, who then gave him his boots after the game.
lcfcadam Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 If anything comes of this it would be a complete farce, and whoever's the person behind the lawsuit: shame on you, pathetic man (or woman)
Tevez Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 To be fair, I don't think Sunderland mind paying out compo especially with the cash we gave them for Waghorn.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 This happend at QPR away this year, Waggy's shot went wide and hit a woman in the face. After the match he gave her his shirt, <3 WAGHORN <3
Kenners Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 This happend at QPR away this year, Waggy's shot went wide and hit a woman in the face. After the match he gave her his shirt, <3 WAGHORN <3 Not true. There's still shirts left in the megastore.

After the match he gave her his shirt, <3 WAGHORN <3 I can also remember an away game a couple of years ago (Walsall?) where it hit someone in the face and Dave Rennie had to go over and sort them out. That was funny despite the lack of hot beverage
Leicester Lass Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 I can also remember an away game a couple of years ago (Walsall?) where it hit someone in the face and Dave Rennie had to go over and sort them out. That was funny despite the lack of hot beverage Yeah, it was a Paul Dickov shot, he gave the lady his shirt after the game.
Fosse Boy Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 A lad I used to play football with got hit by a David beckham shot, who then gave him his boots after the game. Remember being told that story while on a tour of Filbert Street. Apparently Beckham offered the kid the boots or a kiss from Posh Spice.
Adster Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 Waghorn skies the balls alot. I was at Watford away this season, he skied a shot, and it knocked a womens coffee right out of hand and it went all over her face. I know I shouldn't of laughed but I couldn't help it
Bugg Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 Got hit by a Paul Gallagher shot last season away at QPR. Anyone know a good lawyer?
ScouseFox Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 I was about half way up sk1 last season and got hit by Waggy in practice. Pretty impressive that his shooting was that bad.

samlcfc Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 some lad got hit by a stray Gallagher shot earlier this seaon . absolutely destroyed him. headbutted some chair and was bleeding whilst his dad just stood their like WTF mannnn aha, he came up in the crowd and gave him something I believe. Being able to sue over something like that is rediculous though, blatant danger of it happening at some point if you go alot. No wonder health and safety is so over the top at football and in the minds of alot of people killing their fun. being made to sit down etc
