Lets look at it this way. What a prospect of a good season we have next year. We all know currently we have quality players who should be able to perform at this level, but they're not Leicester City players to an extent. Perfect example, full time Leicester player scores, Naughton (and Cunningham IIRC) were both straight over to congratulate. When PVA scored the other week, he got a hug off Gally?

Either way, i believe in Sven, his record though amazing, doesn't excuse him from being questioned, and he did admit on the radio that he got a few things wrong - i think.

Nick- its not been an amazing transitional season on the pitch has it??

Not as good as last season and as said on the previous page- all sven had to do was play the same players in the correct position as under pearson. The whole stands were moaning that sousa couldnt see that, when 20k odd of us could. Svens only come in and done what you or I could see what needed to be done.

An amazing transitional season would be if hodgson kept wba up- 7 games without defeat til yesterday. Not saving us from relegation in october

Stop saying it was simply a case of playing Pearsons team in their positions because that is wrong. The team that got us 5 points after 9 games was nearly all of Pearsons team. Look at the team that played Pompey and lost 6-1 or Norwich 4-3 was almost an identical team to Pearsons bar the exception of 1 or 2 players.

Its not about playing the same team, its about playing the correct team in the right positions and having them play a way they know how to play. Sousa didnt do do that, thats why we were so shite.

There is no way we would have conceded that many with NP's team set up properly.

Exactly peterboro fox- waghorn on the wing as an example

I know what you're trying to say but it is no way near that simple to just put the players in their positions and let them play. It is down to the manager and no doubt had Sousa played our full Pearson team they would have done shit as well.

nowhere near that simple - Sven and Sousa have a different style of play to pearson.

Pearson's team was methodical, tight and hard to beat without being aesthetically pleasing, Sven and Sousa look to set up a team that plays the ball about on the floor, playing beautiful football - certain players from pearsons team didn't fit this style and so playing them would have been the wrong decision and would have cost us dearly - as it did during parts of the sousa reign.

So basically if a player does well for us he has a good attitude, if he plays badly he has a bad attitude? Be honest you don't have a clue what the attitude is of any if these players, smne aren't performing and you don't like it so you want another stick to beat them with.

As for Yakubu laughing, you're basing this on stringers view for starters. Secondly, so what. It doesn't mean a bloody thing if he did. I've laughed at a funeral before, doesn't mean I was happy and didn't give a shit the person who died.

No, it's body language. That's what I wrote. Did you not see that or just choose to ignore it?

Yeh some of our loans have just been poor. Some don't look like they're working hard though.

I''m not going to beat around the bush, this statement shows you know absolutely fvck all about football and from now on I wouldn't expect anyone to take you in the slightest bit seriously.

I'll echo what others have said....

Disruption from the Pearson effect.

Shit pre-season

Utilising Campbell as our main striker all pre season and the start of the season only to sell him

Awful fitness

Sven having to put right that awful fitness

Mediocre signings (Moreno, Abe, Kennedy, Lamey)

Completely revamped style that didnt work for us

The list probably goes on.

Agree with most of that bar the Abe statement. Once he was put in the holding role he started doing really well. Only recently his forms started to dip but personally i reckon thats because he's in a foreign country and theres a massive crisis in his homeland. You can say that he's a professional etc etc but if you were in that position you'd start to get a little home sick and worried especially if he has family in those areas.

He just needs a little time to refocus, he's not a world beater but he's certainly good enough for any team in this division.

Show me your degree in body language and your thesis in how that translates into people giving a shit, then we'll talk. Until then your are just making assumptions.

I'm saying what I see. That's an opinion, not an assumption.

You're making an assumption that they all have the right attitude. You're just making assumptions.

Waghorn wasn't always played as the front man under Pearson.

And he continued to play Oakley out of position on the right wing.

Haydos, how many coaching badges you got then?

I'm a certified Football Manager Legend on several saves.

So you have no argument with what I said and have resorted to a shite comeback. Brave.

Anyone should be able to see that this season was going to be very rocky, ever since Sousa was sacked, whatever new manager came in. Simplistic, clueless drivel like "all he had to do was play the same players" is laughable. Read my points and correct me if i'm wrong about any of them.

If we're doing poorly come Christmas then I'll accept that my faith was misplaced, until then I've seen enough encouraging management to suggest that we can mount a serious challenge next year given some proper preparation.

Can you not see by playing the same 11 as I said, half of your points would be invalid

He didn't have a chance with this. It was ****ed up in the summer and during Sousa's reign. If a manager had come in and kept the same setup with the same core then fair enough your point may be valid but that's simply not the case.

Here's some negativity for a Sunday afternoon... Hull squeak into the playoffs thanks to Fryatt, and end up promoted with Hobbs masterful at the back. Meanwhile LCFC finish in the bottom half of the table in 2010/11. Hobbs leaves for a cut price fee to take his place in the prem, none of the loan signings we currently have come close to coming back, despite Sven spending most of the summer chasing them. Speculation on here focuses on some of the affordable and decent talent available in the summer (Brown, Nugent etc), but nothing happens for ages and when it does we're treated to a load of unproven players from various other leagues around the globe - and £25k per week on a past it 'marquee' striker who is either injured, lazy, or out of form. Pre-season is a farce with the squad being jetted halfway round the world. Again next season we end up panicked and rely on a whole load of reserves from 'top 4' premier teams, having committed to play them no-matter what.

Meanwhile next season, the relegated West Ham and promoted Brighton and Southampton power on, with Middlesborough, Reading and Leeds all firmly in top 6 spots by Christmas. We occasionally flatter to deceive, but by easter there's not much to play for again. Sven pisses off at the end of the season with another £12m debt accumilated, owners who appear to be starting to lose some interest, and only a cup 3rd round win away at Chesterfield to see for it. Andy King's value drops significantly as he loses his scoring touch and goes missing for the majority of the 11/12 campaign. Bamba proves hibs fans right with a series of lamentable performances, as our defence continues to be most un-Pearson-like. Vassell contributes a hugely helpful 2 goals next season yet is given a further contract extension by Svennis prior to his leaving. Our decent youngsters can't find a way into the team, with Parkes, Schlupp, Moussa, John, Ambrusics and Bolger all farmed out on loan. Lamey and Neilson stay attached to the wage-bill as no one will take them.

Toungue in cheek? Very Possibly. But with that said i'd be very surprised if at least half of this wasn't fact by Christmas - we'll see !!

I think we'll file that under 'Worst case scenario'.

Except for the Palace game where no changes were made from the excellent Burnley result... and we all know what happened in that game.

A draw mate. Then he dropped Mee and we got beaten comprehensively by a reading side who ripped our defence apart.

So loan players are per se bad because they tend to be loaned out to other clubs?crylaugh.gif
