There's only one Izzet Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 I'm going for Ben Mee and Miguel Vitor. Sol Bamba seems to dive in quite a lot, although he wins his fair share of challenges, when he doesn't it really costs us. Mee has been a sensation, strong tackler who can read the game very well. Miguel Vitor seems so composed, good technique and reads the game well. He can also pick decent passes out. Bruma, has had a pretty tough time at city, it started when we lost to Cardiff (even though he played in midfield) i think he'll be a good player in a few years, maybe next year but this season it looks as if Sven is forcing him into the starting eleven. So, ultimately my defensive partnership would be Mee and Vitor - two young dogs who seem to show so much experience and confidence!

I cant remember them doing so, so no one can pick them surely as they cant base it on any performances together. I might well be wrong though. For me its Bamba and Vitor. A more physical player in Bamba, but a quicker and technical player in Vitor. After those two, then it would be Bamba and Mee.

Bamba has been poor more recently, but overall, no where near as worse as Bruma, who we all wonder why he get into the team. Bamba is out for the next couple of game anyway, so it would be the perfect chance for Meer and Vitor. But I very much doubt they will both play in the middle anyway. Sven will want his best friend Bruma playing, so the best hope we have is Mee at least plays LB.

Ashley Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 Is Bamba acutually that good though? His first game was agaisnt Manchester City. He was excellent and he did score with his first touch I can remember the commentators when watching the reply of it on ESPN the day later "Leicester City are a real force from corners" oh really considering we haven't scored from one all season! Any how, is Bamba that good? I can recall that Hibs fan saying "watch him be good for the first few games, then he'll show his real self" is this is real self he's showing now? I hope not because I like Bamba.
joelmurray Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 I will says Bamba and Vitor as I think Bamba's presence and Vitor's skill work well together (shown by the Scunny game where they we solid defensive and of course Vitor scored a brace!). I like Mee just as much as Vitor and would definitely be happy to sign him permanently when Vitor goes back to Benfica but for now Vitor has a slight edge.

Vitor to partner him For me, Bamba makes too many bad decisions, bringing the ball down when it should be headed clear, or dribbling when he should pass & whilst his rubber legs get him out of it almost all the time, it puts us under unnecessary pressure, or just indecision and confusion.

Great record & great point. I think PVA is dreadful at defending & leaves us too exposed too many times which is why I voted Bamba - Vitor, earmarking Mee for LB...
Fox92 Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 Easily Vitor and Mee. Vitor is the best centre half at the club, and Mee gives us that balance when he plays because he is left sided.
