sven-your-smiling Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Hi all, this is my first post so unsure how to work it all but here it goes. i've been really impressed that whenever Vitor has been needed (even if if he'd been sat of the bench for 10 games) he has been one of our best players. And even at right back he has solid against burnley and nothing went down that side all game. As with mee i had my doubts when he came but he has turned into a really good player. sven will sign naughton i think and he said he would like cunningham back. i think the mee-vitor pairing at Cb is better than the BAMABA-MEE pairing, so if this all comes tru well will have a brand new back four. MEE = 1.8 million NAUGHTON = 4 million VITOR = 8-15 million CUNNINGHAM = 1 million any more???????????
Ashley Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Vitor has a realse claus in his contract which is £15 million, so it will cost us atleast that should we sign him on a permo.
Finchy Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 15 million for Vitor is laughable, he's good and has potential but that's silly money.
Callabinho Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 15 million for Vitor is laughable, he's good and has potential but that's silly money. At this stage yes, but he is classes above this league, I agree with the £15mil But id bring him back on loan again! problem is David Luiz has left obviously! can't see rui costa letting him go!
Kitchandro Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Vitor is just not going to happen I'm afraid (unless Sven goes into negotiations with a female Benfica representative, then there's hope ) Can't see us getting Naughton either, though we should offer £ 4 million and see what happens, you never know. I think we've got a chance of signing Mee and Cunningham, though I have to say I wouldn't be desperate to get Cunningham. We need an experienced central defender, we've missed one badly this season.

He's good, but classes above is pretty ott. He's been at the back during some of our worst defeats.
Simo86 Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Vitor has a realse claus in his contract which is £15 million, so it will cost us atleast that should we sign him on a permo. Surely it would cost us that at the most I'm sure if we did want to sign him we could get him for a lot less than 15 million. Release clauses are always over the top and are hardly ever met!
Corky Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 We should look to get Mee in, Vitor will go back, Naughton is touch and go at the minute.
Ozwin Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Release clauses are just there as a safety net, in some countries you HAVE to have one in your contract so they just put silly amounts to prevent people snapping them up for peanuts.
Mav Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 You would have to say, would Vitor want to come back after the way hes been treated?
shiv Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Vitor is just not going to happen I'm afraid (unless Sven goes into negotiations with a female Benfica representative, then there's hope )
1991FOX Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Sven has good contacts at benfica having won the the league with them twice! That £15mill release clause is nonsense in relation to the deal sven can get there. I'd be happy if we got him at around £6-7mill, expensive but realistic
Dan Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Just because that's his release clause contract doesn't mean they'll accept less, I swear Puyol had a release clause of £150mil, I very much doubt Barca would've turned down £30mil.
Austin Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 I'd love Ben mee back next season, think the lads genuinely quality and i'd like to think if it was only a loan he'd still give it the beans. As for Vitor, don't think he'll be back which is a shame because I think him and Mee would be an awesome partnership!, Hopefully we can get someone as good as Naughton in at RB which admittedly isn't going to be easy but who knows IN SVENNIS WE TRUST.
MikeyT Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Vitor has a realse claus in his contract which is £15 million, so it will cost us atleast that should we sign him on a permo. WTF!!!
shen Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 You would have to say, would Vitor want to come back after the way hes been treated? Are you referring to the game where he was dropped despite having just scored two goals? Are you referring to the general treatment by fans, players and management? Are you referring to the physios who must have a very good knowledge of Vitor from his time here? Do you know anything that implies he's been treated bad at all or do you know nothing but claim to know how Vitor feels... ?
themotivator Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Vitor has a realse claus in his contract which is £15 million, so it will cost us atleast that should we sign him on a permo. i may be wrong, but it seems like you have got the release clause wrong. why would we have to pay more than 15 mil exactly? (unless you are simply referring to agents fees wages signing on fees etc). the release clause means that if we were to offer 15 mil then they HAVE to accept, because its in his contract, but this does not mean they wouldn't let him go for less. it is, however a pretty good indicator that they value him pretty highly.
Stevosevic Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Will Vitor even want to come back, even it is just for another year? He is a young lad, well paid and probably use to beautiful tanned women back home. Is he really thinking he wants to sign up for another year of bad weather and the ladies of Leicester? Unlikely.
dpjfox Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 didnt we try for stoke cb faye?, maybe the experience we need
Austin Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 didnt we try for stoke cb faye?, maybe the experience we need Think he's available on a free aswell
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Vitor has a realse claus in his contract which is £15 million, so it will cost us atleast that should we sign him on a permo. No it won't? Benfica can sell him for a price of their own choosing... The 15 million reflects what they would HAVE to sell him for if someone made this bid
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Mee and Hobbs with Bamba and Tunch backing them up. I would be incredibly surprised to see Hobbs back here next season. Time to move on me thinks as I am almost certain he will be.
DB11 Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Release clauses are just there as a safety net, in some countries you HAVE to have one in your contract so they just put silly amounts to prevent people snapping them up for peanuts. FM knowledge coming through there
Bryn Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 I'd love to see a permanent backline of Naughton Vitor Mee Cunningham... that said, I don't think we'd go up right away, I think you need an experienced centre back at this level. I think if you could get Vitor he's the stand out, but I'd take one or the other and look to bring in a commanding older centreback alongside.
