Preferably for Everton, as they're in financial difficulty and apparently they need to sell before they can buy, I don't think they would allow us to have him just on loan. If we bid eg. £6m for him, then maybe they would accept it as this gives them the money to fund for his replacement.

If Everton are really as fooked as many have said, why are they not selling? They've had plenty of interest in several players and yet no sales, even though they supposedly need to sell before they can buy.

Seriously though I'd love him to come back. 11 goals in 20 games is a superb ratio. My only criticism is that he often seems to score goals when things were going well and no when we were playing poorly.

I'm open to correction on this point as it's just an impression I was left with at the end of last season.

The Yak would be a fantastic addition in my eyes. Just because he doesnt run around like a blue arsed fly doesnt make him a bad player. A lot of strikers play a similar game but dont get as good a goal ratio.

A lot of people have said this will not guarentee us promotion. Agree, however would contribute a huge amount towards it.

The Yak and Maynard coming in would really put the cat amongst the pigeons and other champ teams will be coming to the KP sh**ting themselves.

This deal's been on the table for months. It's clear that neither side really want it, but they are being forced into it in the absence of alternative options.

I can't see any loan spell being more successful for the club than the previous one.

I've always thought signing a proven Premier League goalscorer who scored 11 in 20 last season for us would be sending out the wrong message too.

I think we should be spending the £3m on Adam Le Fondre instead. A player who has never played at this level and would be huge risk, and the end result could be us pissing £3m up the wall. Now that would send out a positive message.

Maybe, but if our last resort is considered to be Yakubu then that shows just how much our club has progressed! Last year, when we got Yakubu on loan, people were ecstatic.
