The Robbie Savage Topic

Somewhere in between.

Fantastic player for the club and I'd praise him for that in a heartbeat. Not everyone's cup of tea but he loves playing football and you can't fault him for that. Not too bothered if he's a shit pundit.

Good innings Lily, thanks for the memories!

Robbie Savage was part of a side that had success, something that we haven't seen since. I'll always like him because he played his part in that team.

He does play with passion constantly, where as many other players don't. In fact, some of our players now should look at his passion and get stuck in more like Savage. And I do think he is a role model for a professional though - He is never in the news, beating people up or getting himself in the middle of things like some other players, he just plays football/trains and goes back home.

Savage is a character and the game needs more of them. If you read some of his strories in his book, they are so funny. He is one of those players though that you love or hate, and personally, I do like him and always will.

Good luck in the future, Sav.

Legend without a shadow of a doubt.

Neither, was never his biggest fan but he carved out a good career for himself and made the most of what he had.

Done very well for himself, and I loved him playing here. I hated him as a footballer playing against us, but he's pretty funny, and he can take the piss out of himself, which is a bonus.

So not quite a legend, but a top bloke.

That about sums it up perfectly for me.

I always liked Sav. Even has a pundit he is alright. He is what he is and he doesn't mind poking fun at himself. Only Sav would strip down to white Y fronts to bow out gracefully.

The game will be a much less classy place without Sav on the pitch.

Just keep him off 606.

this ..

Hated when he played against us .. Bit of a cock.

Don't see how he could be 'hated' really. He's just a footballer who loves the banter with fans, hardly a really dirty twat like Muscat or someone. Seems a good bloke off the pitch too.

Sav was/is a legend. Stepped on a few toes, but that was more coz he's daft than a bad person. :D

Love him on 606 - wish he'd replace Green mid-week.

Early in the season when he had that row with a caller accusing him of being a spoiled footballer, buying 13 pairs of trainers and making the kid carry them out to his car. "I've NEVER bought 13 pairs of trainers in my life!! I don't need to, I get all mine for free!!" lol

Top man.

Any argument that is put forward about footballers is immediately shot down by him by saying "Are you a professional footballer? No? Then shut up, you don't know what you are talking about."

Troll.

I generally like his analysis and the fact that he is so self-effacing but he pedals the same trite line when anyone questions footballers.

That's fair. I think Robbie gets a bit defensive at times, especially when the matter of wages comes up. Even when it's a sensible caller.

But there's also a lot of callers who speak absolute drivel about footballers and how they should act and how much they should be paid.

He has finally hung up his boots.

Legend or C*nt?

The second one.

Also, his media career means I can't listen to as much radio as I want to and now his insipid burblings have made it to the odd televised game it also restricts my footy watching.

I voted for hin on that award I think.

Apparantly he starts crying on Late Kick Off tonight, not sure why though.

He's probably gutted Derby didn't go down.
