Christoph Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Bulgaria, Sunny Beach. Heard good things about it, no some people who went last year who said it was good and we wanted to go somewhere for two weeks rather than one, so figured Bulgaria would be the cheapest option
Jon the Hat Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Thanks! Will look into those, Whats the sea life like? Went scuba diving in Egypt and want to go again! Malta has some really good diving mainly due to the interesting underwater topography. Egypt is completely different though, you don't really get the same reef / tropical experience in the Med for example.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Bulgaria, Sunny Beach. Heard good things about it, no some people who went last year who said it was good and we wanted to go somewhere for two weeks rather than one, so figured Bulgaria would be the cheapest option I went just before it became very popular, about 2005. Very cheap, Pint was 30p but since they've joined the euro and it has become a lot more built up etc. Few mates going there, See what they say. Was brilliant when I went. Stayed at Victoria Palace ( Which is incredible, felt like royalty) and Royal Park (Elenite village) lovely all round.

I dont think it will be as cheap as 30p a pint but anything like a pound a pint ill be laughing still.

Trying to be coerced into going to Zante late June as well, a mate was due to be going with four others and one's pulled out, not that keen but we shall see.

AmericanScott Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Bulgaria, Sunny Beach. Heard good things about it, no some people who went last year who said it was good and we wanted to go somewhere for two weeks rather than one, so figured Bulgaria would be the cheapest option Sunny Beach <3 Absolutely amazing!!! Went last year with the missus. Food is expensive but the beer is dirt cheap (i got a bath tub full of beer for 1lev) Hit a bar called Bar Mexico. Its so much fun and the cocktails are dirty. We got steaming every night for less than 10 Lev. Loved it! By the way, every hour is happy hour in Sunny Beach. I want to live there in the summer months. I love it. You going with Balkan Holidays? If so, go to the welcome meeting in some random hotel and go to Varna to the dolphin show. Fantastic stuff. Also if you're into history, spend the 1 lev for a bus to Nessebar. Amazing place. It's a cheap holiday but the best in Europe. I want to go back soon. Have a great time. Here's some pics Cocktails two for one every night in our local bar Got back to to hotel room and sat on the balcony enjoying Jager and coke with Bulgarian Doritos and dip The sunburn i got after one day Me pissed with my Bulgaria scarf All that i could fit into my suitcase on the way back PS. Those bottles of vodka were only £1 each. 2 Lev. ENJOY!
AmericanScott Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Here's some more of Sunny Beach After England drew with Algeria. I drowned my sorrows with some horrible shooter of shit. Dolphin show in Varna A View of Sunny Beach from Nessebar Me being a boss on holiday at Bar Azurro. Hope you do the same.

I dont think it will be as cheap as 30p a pint but anything like a pound a pint ill be laughing still. Deffo not 30p anymore. When we went it was about 50p-£1 a pint which is still the bollocks. I expect it to be a little bit more expensive this year. There's also a good food place which is cheap called Be Happy on the main Promenade.

Teece Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 I've already been. Just got back a couple of weeks ago from Riviera Maya area of Mexico. Was one of the best places i've been. It was so good its given me such post-holiday blues (cruel trick of nature that...) i'm hoping to see if I can get away again somewhere later in the year, maybe Portugal or Greece preferably, have never been to either so feel free to help out an old fellow fox and donate any wordly-wise views and recommendations for either place
Samu Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 I'm living in NYC right now so the opportunities to take holidays are immense. So far this year I've been to Atlanta, Nashville and Memphis over Easter, just got back from a long weekend in New Orleans and have been to the Poconos Mountains in Pennsylvania and the Catskills Mountains in upstate New York. Next week I am going to Washington DC and then the weekend after I'm going to Atlanta again and the Gulf of Mexico. In August I'm going to Chicago and then in September I'm off to Bangkok for 4 months. Might even fit in a trip to Oadby in September if I'm lucky!
Gav_LCFC Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 Going away in a couple of days, but everytime i go on a plane and its about to land my ears seriously hurt me. I've tried just about everything chewing gum, yawning, earplugs. Does anyone else have this problem?
