Back to the topic...when you saw him liamlcfc1 was he wearing shades/flipflops/hat etc? If so maybe he was stopping at Leicester before his holiday.

If you could confirm that it'd be great.

p.s have you sent your CV off to sky sports?

Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill is signing Derby County striker Luke Varney in a £750,000 deal - as he looks to fill David Nugent’s scoring boots.

Cotterill has cash to bring in new players and has agreed a fee with the Rams for Varney who spent last season on loan at Blackpool in the Premier League.

Varney is prepared to stay in the Championship with Pompey - and the price will increase if he is a success and helps them to win promotion.

I think Nugent has moved on - it would have happened by now surely as at one point it was virtually nailed on. My guess was that he is looking for Prem footie and if not he wants a big salary at championship level whereas at Prem level he would forgo a bit of cash.

We're obviously not going to be the only club in for him.

As I've said again and again, players WILL look for the best option. Despite what many seem to believe on here, we are not the biggest club in the country or even the division for that matter.

David Nugent set to join Leicester City

LEICESTER CITY boss Sven Goran Eriksson is set to agree terms with England one-cap wonder David Nugent – at the launch of a huge signing bonanza.

Nugent, 26, is a free agent after leaving Portsmouth and Leicester are the only club in the Championship who can match his old Premier League wages.

Eriksson is prepared to pay £2.5million apiece for two more strikers – Fulham’s Andy Johnson and Peterborough’s Craig Mackail-Smith. He also wants Jonathan Woodgate, released by Tottenham.
