Mickey O'Neil Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 I think a lot of it is all agent talk trying to get themself the best price and contacting papers and media to stiir things up i think he will sign for us as we can offer him better wages then most clubs can. This. Or, nothing stoping him breaking a gentleman's agreement (if that's what it was). I'd still take him, and still want him.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 TheNewStatsman Mark Charlton#Leicester City fans hoping for progress in the transfer market will be heartened by tomorrow's Mercury back page #lcfc
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Howz about everyone just chills out and waits. Bert has given info based on knowledge. The club will announce facts how and when they like, & can delay for what ever reason they see fit. We can only sit it out & wait. Stop the what if's, it's killing me!!!
Callabinho Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Which I think will be mr. Nugent, a friend of mine claims we have made a bid for Maynard?
Lesta Legend Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Put it this way. I was told it's a done deal, and simply told everyone. Not looking for people to say "oh please don't" etc, but if it keeps the moaners happy I can just as easily stop. Most people appreciate your info, ignore them

RizLCFC Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Asked 'TheNewStatsman' for a clue and he tweeted back: It will be billed as 'City line-up a dozen transfer targets'...
wellyfox Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Well how funny can life be. We have been linked with more players than days left to kick off Have no one and only have half a squad left from last season. But as much as I want to see some movement I still trust in Sven. We never do anything easy so why panic. :crylaugh:
Liamlcfc1 Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 @Watson_Journo Jake WatsonNugent deal has now gone on dangerously long. Apparently 4 PL clubs interested, now have serious doubts that this deal will happen #lcfc
Guest ttfn Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 No doubt that Bert's source is reliable, and that Bert has reported back to us verbatim, which I'm sure everyone is very grateful for. Nevertheless, it just goes to show that, joking aside about the slowness of the OS, we shouldn't take anything for granted until it's been posted on there.
smudger63 Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Asked 'TheNewStatsman' for a clue and he tweeted back: It will be billed as 'City line-up a dozen transfer targets'... Just another headline for the billboards then, to try and sell a few more papers to city fans. Can`t blame them for that really.
Callabinho Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Asked 'TheNewStatsman' for a clue and he tweeted back: It will be billed as 'City line-up a dozen transfer targets'... Every name we have mentioned on here will be mentioned in tomorrow's merc.
sdb Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 I can take it or leave it with DN. I like the prospect of Derbyshire, especially in a front 3. Maynard would be the dream signing. Nugent would be a useful addition, but not a heartbreaker should it not materialise. He's not Prem quality, and if he wants to screw us over than he can go elsewhere (if that's the case).
darko2k7 Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 This from Teamtalk website, unable to link as im using PS3 browser. Several Premier League and Championship sides are vying for the signature of former Portsmouth striker David Nugent, according to reports. Nugent is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Portsmouth and his availability has alerted a number of clubs. The former Preston man netted 14 goals last season and a number of sides are thought to have registered their interest. Queens Park Rangers and Swansea could make moves as they look to bolster their attacking options, while Leicester and Ipswich have been credited with an interest in the England international. The one-cap England international is set to return from holiday next week and will weigh up his options before making a decision on where he to continue his career. Think the last sentence is the only reason for the delay to see where he goes. Can not see why Swansea or QPR would or need to be after him.
Callabinho Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 According to reports is interesting! I think he has signed, if he is on holiday then he hasn't been speaking to anyone! Don't worry all will be revieled soon
Liamlcfc1 Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 just got this tweet back from a guy who works for portsmouth news to my question do you think Nugent will still sign pn_neil_allen Neil Allen@ @liamlcfc As ever expect a bit of brinksmanship in football transfers. Does negotiations no harm for Nugent if other interest is publicised!
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 No doubt that Bert's source is reliable, and that Bert has reported back to us verbatim, which I'm sure everyone is very grateful for. Nevertheless, it just goes to show that, joking aside about the slowness of the OS, we shouldn't take anything for granted until it's been posted on there. I guess this is true... I don't know Bert from Adam but he appears to be a legend on here and obviously respected. However, until something is officially a 'done deal' speculation will continue to be rife. I personally would like nugent at city and hope that Berts source is correct
acooling08 Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Well this is worrying. Went from a done deal to a possibility. No offence Bert, I appreciate any inside info, we'll see if it turns out correct.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 According to reports is interesting! I think he has signed, if he is on holiday then he hasn't been speaking to anyone! Don't worry all will be revieled soon
Hack Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Maynard > Nugent Maybe but at the cost 3-5mil I think I would have Nugent on a free so we can use the cash to bolster the club elsewhere
Callabinho Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 I'd hope he would leave it off, his missus would be fuuuumin?
MikeyT Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Skysports.com understands several Premier League and Championship sides are chasing former Portsmouth striker David Nugent. Just realised this has already been posted.
hackneyfox Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 How did he have a medical last week if he is still away on holiday? How many people 'confirmed' that he'd had a medical last week? So did he? Or were they just passing on rumours? Or is he already back off holiday? So may questions, even more rumours.
Babylon Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 So may questions, even more rumours. Moral of the story, don't believe everything you read on twitter, or here, or the papers. (Not aimed at you).
