sphericalfox Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Anything of interest in the moan-in this evening other than bleating on about 'a lack of signings'? I failed to register that it may be on.
Danno Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Yep, obvious moaning about lack off signings and Alan young going on about the egyptian keeper when he's probably never seen him play..
MikeyT Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 I didn't even know the moan in was still on. I thought it ended when the season did and would be back again when the season starts.
londonfox_93 Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 One of the worst ones i've heard in a long, the 'guests' talking a load of shit, especially Alan Young....ranting about how bad the Egyptian keeper is, how the only good team in Egypt is Cairo and Tel-Aviv Birchenall, Walsh and Young constantly go on about how much PASSSSSSHUUUUUN is needed by the players coming in. Young saying how he would rather have Marlon King as his 20 goal a season striker instead of Yakubu
rico Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 They all talk bollox,Walshy always has to get in that he nobbled some player in a game,Jemson in a Legends match this time I liked Young when he first started doing the commentary but now he just sounds like a senile old git !

As for King/Yakubu- One would be free to sign and whose wages considerably less, so if both were going to definitley get 20 a season, of course you'd choose the cheaper option

Young saying how he would rather have Marlon King as his 20 goal a season striker instead of Yakubu Spot on, dont forget they also talked about sand and how all the players we are linked with are too lazy, don't show passion and we need to look at other players, but none of them could come up with a single name. I was shocked when Young said he would have Marlon King over Yakubu, utter shit, and then the presenter Martin Ballard comes out with his lame jokes every 10 seconds.

Bettsj2 Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Young is a disgrace. Birch sits on the fence. Walsh's agenda is self promotion. Pointless having the phone in.
Dan Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 I like Young myself. Think he has the occasional howler but often agree with him, and he's entertaining in the fact he hardly EVER sits on the fence, what entertainment is about for me. The bloke who likened Lloyd Dyer to Thierry Henry just lol
stockyfox Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 If you heard last week's moan-in, I phoned in to make the seemingly unimportant point that we were going to play Real Madrid in (then) 54 days time and at that moment, we not only didn't even have a team, but there wasn't even a glimmer of speculation. The 'panel' didn't seriously debate the question but asked my opinion on further speculative signings - Given and SWP. I was happy to go along with that but not at the total expense of Chris Weale. I was a bit disappointed that my comments didn't provoke further reaction -good or bad,- in support or ridicule! on the programme itself, Bentleys or FoxesTalk. Tonight however, there seemed to be quite a few like me who are also now becoming uneasy with our apparent lack of activity in the transfer market. I also made the point that I considered 5million for Kyle Naughton was a bargain. When you consider that Chelski have slapped a 20million price tag on Sturridge, 5m is a snip! (I can't even visualise £20million!) Also, this last week, the new Thai owners have set out their stall and I reckon that if we are not in a strong position looking for automatic promotion by Christmas / January, we will be looking for a new manager. The owners don't just want us in the PL, they are looking at the Champions League in the near future and if Sven doesn't come up with the goods, then don't be surprised if.... I also asked the question as to what we were favourites for, - promotion or relegation! Actually, Birch made the point that it is teamwork that brings success which I have also been saying for years - the sum of the parts is greater than the whole and I am in total agreement with Alan Young when he says that any player has got to want to play for Leicester - as Kyle Naughton, Cunningham and Ben Mee did. Thoughts?

Thoughts? Can you visualise £5 million?? I don't think our lack of transfer activity is anything to worry about, as of yesterday there were only about 6 transfers in total in the whole Championship so we aren't an anomaly. I think so many clubs are in talks with the same players that negotiations are incredibly protracted. We should start worrying when we start lagging behind other clubs. Sven will have many irons in the fire no doubt.

acooling08 Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 I think Young speaks for a large part of our fanbase. I don't want a 38 year old Egyptian keeper ffs, anyone who does is a moron. And I know a lot of fans aren't keen on Yakubu either for the money he wants. Have to disagree on wanting Marlon king though.
Babylon Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 Tonight however, there seemed to be quite a few like me who are also now becoming uneasy with our apparent lack of activity in the transfer market. The window has been open 14 days, more clubs haven't signed players than have at the moment. Quality in demand players take more time to buy than dross. I also made the point that I considered 5million for Kyle Naughton was a bargain. When you consider that Chelski have slapped a 20million price tag on Sturridge, 5m is a snip! Sven will get sacked if he doesn't provide champions league football? Really? I also asked the question as to what we were favourites for, - promotion or relegation! If you think we have £5m spare for a right back then it certainly isn't relegation.

The Doctor Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 People still listen to the moan in? It's such a depressing thing, the presenters are either boring (barber) or retarded (stringer) and the callers all seem to have the dangerous mix of high expectations and a tenuous grip of reality.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 Regarding the passion bit, I honestly believe players can make up what they lack in talent by having the passion to play for a club. I'd rather have 11 unproven players who care about the team than 11 premiership has beens here for one last big pay day. For example, its no coincidence the england side containing the 'golden generation' have been crap.
The Doctor Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 is it because this "golden generation" weren't actually all that much? I'm not saying "passion" is completely irrelevant but if you were to take 11 premiership has beens and pit them off against 11 members of this forum, despite the 11 members of this forum having more "passion" they'd still get their asses handed to them. ability is key, "passion" should be used to seperate two possible signings should they be roughly equal in terms of ability.
danlcfc4ever Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 I'd be passionately blowing out of my arse after 90 minutes against 11 premiership has beens
