Knocking the gravy boat on the gravy train

So with the slow, slow, slow build up in anticipation to today's date of the 1st of July, our squad are finally back in training.

We have a few additions already joined, with the media and inside and outside sources claiming to know the specifics of the other members joining in today.

So can we expect to be over the moon by the close of play today? Will expectations jump even higher than what it may have already due to the transfer activity?

Even the most level-headed and strong willed of the forum have been drawn into the saga of the transfer window. Tempted by it's shiny-shiny lure. Who wouldn't?

So I ask everyone, do you feel that you will be satisfied by the end of today? Or will you left wanting for more?

Its going to go nuts around here. Every new link and signing is only heightening the expectation of the next. This is without doubt the most exciting off season since I became a fan in 1995 when I moved to Leicester. I would say happy knowing it ain't over yet and looking to see who could possibly be next!

Its vital that us fans keep our feet on the ground. We are looking like we're building a good squad. Nothing else. Yet.

The only reason I can see us missing out is because of the expectation of our fans. If we don't hit the ground running im august the boo boys will be back in force doing more harm than good

IMO today will see St Ledger (?) officially become a City player as his contract at Huddersfield has now ended, other than that I think we may still be competing for signatures with our competitors, but undoubtedly some more top class players to join City.

But as others have said, this is a very exciting time, top (no pun intended) owners, internationally acclaimed manager, who also seems to be a great bloke, & here we are beating Prem clubs to the signing of some excellent players. I am somewhat worried though 'cos with the type of player we are now bringing in to the football club, we could become too confident that we are certain to finish in the top 2. I think that we will, but please don't let us shout too loud. We are probably going to be the most hated club in the Championship due to jealousy/envy, so be ready for some piss taking. Sven & Faz will see to it that the players don't become complacent/over confident, so let's get it on!!!

I remember Micky Adams signing a whole new squad of freebies including Nicolas Priet a few seasons ago. I'll not be satisfied until we've signed the next Nicholas Priet.

And the next Paul Brooker.

My feet are firmly on the ground, yes there's a degree of optimism but even if we make the predicted signings they don't guarantee success.

All I hope for is competitive and exciting football played out on the pitch with a fair measure of success.

We're Leicester City it's never easy with us.

I think that phrase is completely wrong, if his contract at Preston has now ended why is there a fee involved?

No great person/persons has ever achieved greatness without taking risks, It's part and parcel of becoming what you will. For every great performer there is a wise mind behind them, Between Sven on the owners there are enough wise heads to know when to stop. King Power is a good example of this...

I'd say there will be a risky signing or two that will get a few fans riled, and certainly I suspect even with a full pre-season behind us we won't hit the ground running. We will be difficult to break down, and hopefully creating as many chances as last season, but perhaps more clinical finishing.

I'm trying hard not to become blindly enthused by the signings and potential signings and what incredible football might be seen form us, as ever the optimistic pessimist in me, tells me that I will be disappointed.

All I know is that there has NEVER been a better time to be a fan of LCFC, even the most dour pessimist, and Sven-haters, know there's a squad being built which is definitely an improvement on what we have had in recent years.

I just want the majority of our signings to be done by early next week. The frustration, elation and anger at these rumours and the time it takes for the negotiations is taking it's toll on me, especially when we're being linked with up to 6 new players a day. You can't keep track of what's what and then you worry the players we're in negotiations with aren't now coming and we've moved on to the next victim.

As far as today goes I think we'll see one or two additions which will satisfy me, at least for a while.

As for the next year, I'm excited but shitting myself. If we don't get promoted this year then who knows what might happen.

I would be happy with any of CMS, St Ledger, Mills, Mee, Nugent signing today, as long as we get one in just to keep the momentum going!

I actually think no one will though today and it may drag on.

CMS has to be the closest from what we are hearing although the Nugent deal was said to be all done a while ago so who knows.

Just give us at least ONE today!!! Plzzzz
