kyle09uk Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Some people don't have a clue on this forum, so what if he's a league one player? How many players have come from the conferance and lower and been good players? LOADS. Michael Kightly.... nuff said.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 I'd let em av Schlupp on a loan. Can't do any harm. Give him a season of league one football.
samstown92 Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Its all about building a good squad and I think this would be a great addition. in Sven we trust
CosbehFox Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 I think he'd handed in a transfer request before our interest was declared? Correct. http://www.examiner.co.uk/huddersfield-town-fc/huddersfield-town-news/2011/06/30/huddersfield-town-s-anthony-pilkington-wants-to-leave-huddersfield-town-86081-28972687 Wednesday he declared intention to leave

How many players have come from the conferance and lower and been good players? LOADS. Exactly! Muzzy izzett. - Chelsea 3rd team Neil Lennon & robbie savage. - crewe Matty Elliott. - oxford utd Some of our best players in the past few years were unknown quantities,... sven and faz know what they're doing!
oxford blue Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Probably like most of the posters, I've not seen him play. He may be very good, but I don't think he's played since a serious injury in March. Isn't this too much of a risk, given there aren't unlimited funds? For those that have seen him play, before his injury, is he much better than Dyer with the ability to perform at the higher level?
hackneyfox Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 It doesn't take much to be better than Dyer, even if his broken leg hasn't healed he'll have as many useful legs as Dyer
Foxybeaver Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 He handed in a transfer request when he found out we where in for him

No more risk than signing a fully fit player, it's seen so many times in a season, it just takes one wrong step or one wrong turn on the pitch and it's all over. Plus he'll be put through his paces and if not fit enough won't be signed, the clubs not stupid.

No hes much, much poorer than dyer
Legend_in_blue Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 It doesn't take much to be better than Dyer, even if his broken leg hasn't healed he'll have as many useful legs as Dyer That's extremely harsh on Dyer. Have a pop at someone worthy of having a pop at. Yakubu would be a good start.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 He's an absolute class act. Huddersfield would've gone up had he not got crippled.
leicesterisme Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 That's extremely harsh on Dyer. Have a pop at someone worthy of having a pop at. Yakubu would be a good start. On what basis? 11 goals in 20 games, I don't see how you can criticise that.
Darkon84 Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 That's extremely harsh on Dyer. Have a pop at someone worthy of having a pop at. Yakubu would be a good start. Go and sit in the corner and think about what you just said.

That's your opinion, mine is that Dyer is a waste of space, or in general he was last season, the last few games where he came on as a sub (impact sub some on here call him) he touched the ball twice in fifteen minutes and seemed to actually run away from where the ball would likely go. Yakubu did the job he was paid to do, Dyer is signed for another 3 seasons, we have to get rid asap.
Callabinho Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 He is quality at that level! He has a demonic left boot if I remember correctly
MikeyT Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 He is quality at that level! He has a demonic left boot if I remember correctly Demonic?
Legend_in_blue Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 On what basis? 11 goals in 20 games, I don't see how you can criticise that. If it weren't for his laziness, he would have got more. Not many people on here seem to be able to see past the 11/20 goals fact. Shame.

Night Air Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6mjAYDXWPc Sign him up. Some dudes even added dramatic music to make him sound better. Naughton would be proud of that strike!

I'd call it consuming energy for the right times. Also he creates space for other players e.g. King because there's always 2 men on Yakubu therefore space for King to recieve the ball freely in an advanced position. People don't actually realise the work-rate he puts in, alright I admit he could put in a lot more but he certainly is not lazy.

Pretty sure he was signed with the aim of taking us into the top 6. Maybe if the Yak hadn't gone AWOL in big games, it could have happened.
