Fox92 Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Just the type of player we need in my opinion. He can use both feet, knows where the net is and playes on both sides. Scored a cracker against Sheffield Wednesday when I watched that game on TV.
RyanB89 Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 I agree 3m on CMS,1.75m on Pilkington, and 750,000 on Peltier altogether adds up to 5.5M on League 1 players, would rather have spend it on Routledge or Whittingham instead of pilkington because at least they have had experience of being in a promotion push. Oh well only time will tell.
Happy Fox Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 http://www.examiner.co.uk/huddersfield-town-fc/huddersfield-town-news/2011/07/01/huddersfield-town-players-start-pre-season-training-86081-28978497/ HUDDERSFIELD Town's players arrived back for pre-season training today. However there appeared to be no Anthony Pilkington at the Canalside session. Pilkington, 23, who has asked to leave the club, has now been linked with a move to Leicester City - just days after his friend and former Huddersfield Town man Lee Peltier joined the Foxes.

Ross_Spencer Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 It is league 1 transfers FFS... now im getting angry Skysports.com understands Leicester have entered the race for Huddersfield winger Anthony Pilkington. The 23-year-old is regarded as one of the best young talents in the Football League after impressing at Huddersfield during the last few seasons. Pilkington looks set to quit Huddersfield after expressing his desire to leave the Galpharm Stadium. Norwich are thought to be chasing the former Stockport man as they prepare for life in the Premier League, but Leicester are hoping to win the race for Pilkington's services. Ambitious Leicester are in talks with Huddersfield as they look to thrash out a deal to bring Pilkington to the Walkers Stadium. Foxes boss Sven Goran Eriksson is keen to build a side capable of winning promotion from the Championship next season and he sees Pilkington as a key addition to his squad. If Eriksson is successful in his pursuit of Pilkington he could become the second Huddersfield player to join Leicester following the arrival of Lee Peltier earlier this summer. ^^This is the only transfer news I can see about Pilkington and this says nothing about him handing in a transfer request
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 It is league 1 transfers FFS... now im getting angry don't cry about it!
Jon the Hat Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Nothing wrong with signing the stars of the league below if they are better than what you have. And the fact that we are also after Mills says this is not about looking only for the bargain basement but about picking up talent when we see it. Personally I can't think of anything better!
foxoffderby Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 ^^This is the only transfer news I can see about Pilkington and this says nothing about him handing in a transfer request Thats becasue im watching the channel and not the website its on there
Joe. Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 I think he'd handed in a transfer request before our interest was declared?
Nunny Fox Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Are they better that what we have? Im certainly not saying they aint but Who knows for sure if they have never played at this level. Just think its a gamble. Im all for pilkington but 3m on CMS seems steep to me.
leicesterisme Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Yeah it's on Huddersfields website saying he's asked to leave and that was yesterday.
morris1234 Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 i dont get why alot of people seem to think we MUST sign players from premiership sides to succeed. These are young ,hungry, athletic and versatile players who.are going to want to prove themselves in our side. For those that are moaning about league 1 potential acquisitions,do you not agree players can be plucked from any team and despite stats and statistics, can do far better or far worse for our club, its not un heard of. i for one like the look of this lad and if true am very excited by the young vibrant players were looking to build a squad with.
Ashley Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Some people don't have a clue on this forum, so what if he's a league one player? How many players have come from the conferance and lower and been good players? LOADS.
morris1234 Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 **** despite their past and statistics stupid phone **** despite their past and statistics stupid phone
Ianlcfc Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Don't forget faz was there so he must know the lads pretty well, Sven obviously trusts him
kingfox Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Says on Sky Sports news info bar, that Pilkington has handed in a transfer request because we have bidded £1.75 million for him and that Huddersfield are thinking over the offer.
thybluefox Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Sign players from the premiership = people not happy. Sign players from championship and lower leagues = people not happy. Lets all just go home shall we.

Jakemoore Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Town fan here Quality player but no one knows if he'll be the same on his return from that very bad injury Two of his good mates are now with you, Peltier and Danns which could work in your favour Although another good mate, Vaughan, is at Norwich Gives us £2million, Dyer permanently and Schlup on loan and you've got yourselves a deal Errrrrrrrrrr no!!!! You can have dyer and we'll have him for 1.7 million as reported. Schluupp is a future star c'mon leicestarhhh
