Liamlcfc1 Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7013319,00.html Skysports.com understands Leicester have entered the race for Huddersfield winger Anthony Pilkington. The 23-year-old is regarded as one of the best young talents in the Football League after impressing at Huddersfield during the last few seasons. Pilkington looks set to quit Huddersfield after expressing his desire to leave the Galpharm Stadium. Norwich are thought to be chasing the former Stockport man as they prepare for life in the Premier League, but Leicester are hoping to win the race for Pilkington's services. Ambitious Leicester are in talks with Huddersfield as they look to thrash out a deal to bring Pilkington to the Walkers Stadium. Foxes boss Sven Goran Eriksson is keen to build a side capable of winning promotion from the Championship next season and he sees Pilkington as a key addition to his squad. If Eriksson is successful in his pursuit of Pilkington he could become the second Huddersfield player to join Leicester following the arrival of Lee Peltier earlier this summer.
Stevosevic Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Interesting, i thought a deal with Norwich was all but done, obviously not. Maybe Peltier can have a word with his friend.
Night Air Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 we are linked with quite a few Pilkington's it seems...
kingfox Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Beat me to it but seems there is three other posts Well this kid is brilliant and a lot of fans on here have mentioned his name, this would be a good signing I believe and one we will pull off because of Sven and because of Peltier.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 we are linked with quite a few Pilkington's it seems... I'm not going to pretend I know him. Same side as Dyer?? Pelts put him up to it/had a word with Sven?
thybluefox Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 By the sounds of what Pelts has been saying on Twitter Pilkington has been getting a fair amount of abuse for thinking of leaving Hudds.
Bugg Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Good thing about Pilkington is that he has no foot weaker than the other, meaning he can play either side.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 good player then? Was he in the Hudds team that played us 3 seasons ago?
VinceNoir Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 "Read on SkySports today that Leicester wanted me. Didn't really bother me, so I turned to Suzanne and asked if she had heard that thing about jellyfish. She walked away..."
foxfanazer Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Would love this to happen. Cracking player. Also he scores some wonder goals
Bugg Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 good player then? Was he in the Hudds team that played us 3 seasons ago? I think he was at Stockport then.
CosbehFox Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 I'm not going to pretend I know him. Same side as Dyer?? Pelts put him up to it/had a word with Sven? He's both footed. By the sounds of what Pelts has been saying on Twitter Pilkington has been getting a fair amount of abuse for thinking of leaving Hudds. He's on the recovery from a broken leg, the club and fans have supported him through it. Two days before pre-season...he says he wants to leave. Be a very, very good addition.
Nodsy Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 A Huddersfield mate of mine rates him a lot. Says he was their best player last season until he broke his leg. 2 good feet, very skillful and scores lots.
skinner05 Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Town fan here Quality player but no one knows if he'll be the same on his return from that very bad injury Two of his good mates are now with you, Peltier and Danns which could work in your favour Although another good mate, Vaughan, is at Norwich Gives us £2million, Dyer permanently and Schlup on loan and you've got yourselves a deal
One Arm Babba Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 "Read on SkySports today that Leicester wanted me. Didn't really bother me, so I turned to Suzanne and asked if she had heard that thing about jellyfish. She walked away..." "yeh, Leicester. They're alright"

One Arm Babba Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Gives us £2, Dyer permanently and Schlup on loan and you've got yourselves a deal DEAL

The way it works is you ask for Waghorn and we negotiate you down to Dyer. Don't go in asking for Dyer straight away.
Stevosevic Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 RobTannerMerc Rob Tanner Just spoken to someone who has confirmed Leicester's interest in Anthony Pilkington. Reaction?
