So where are Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal & co on our fixture lists then? Pretty sure he was signed with the aim of taking us into the top 6.

Maybe if the Yak hadn't gone AWOL in big games, it could have happened.

Seriously?

I'll think you find the reason we was not in the top 6 was obviously the horrible start to the season, but the unsettled defence, Yakubu did his job perfectly and if your blaming him for us not being in the top 6 then you are stupid.

In February, after Yakubu joined, we were 12 points ahead of Reading. We ended up 10 points behind them. There is a limit to how much the poor start can be used as an excuse for failure.

Yakubu was a flat-track bully who only performed against lower-half teams. In games against top-6 sides and challengers he was a liability. It's no surprise that Sven is finding other targets for his sizeable transfer kitty.

I thought Sven had made it clear that he would have liked Yakubu back this season.

It was Yakubu's wage demands, allegedly, that mean he hasn't been signed.

Wage demands and not keen on dropping down a level again.

Can't see any Prem teams being interested. He will go some big Turkish side or something

I completely agree but you'll have a hard time convincing people otherwise. I haven't managed it yet! lol

If people are seriously trying to blame Yakubu for us not getting promoted then, well, you need to have a word with yourselves.

I wouldn't blame him individually, no. But it is fair to say he was a complete let-down against the "bigger teams" and in games that really needed "a win".

Putting a wonder goal past the worst Derby side I have ever seen is all fine and good but this impact was never reproduced against teams around us when it was needed most. In fact he was that bad at Forest it was embarrassing.

And without him, we would have scored 11 less goals. Remember the 3 against Boro? Without them, a 3-0 loss?

To be fair you can't blame yakubu for us not getting promoted and the guy has All the tools to be a world beater at championship level but that said he's not all he's cracked up to be.

There's a reason Everton would rather play Cahill up front that Yakubu despite having no fit strikers last year.

He can do it when he wants. He did the business against boro to prove a point to their fans. He is talented but don't be fooled he is a lazy

For the wages he wanted there a better options. I'm not a yakubu hater by any means but the 12 goals he got are not reflective of what he can offer long term.

Maybe if the Yak hadn't gone AWOL in big games, it could have happened.

And maybe if we continued making posts containing pure conjecture we'll still be in exactly the same situation.

Isn't this fun. Let's keep going round and round in circles about the Yak!

Id personally LOVE to see this signing cus we could do with a young winger, to show some desire, and heart for the team so mr.sven sign him up!

Sure I saw a story in one of the papers saying he looked set to join Norwich. I'll try and find it again

Daily Mirror, make of it what you will......
