dorsetfox Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 after all the cms pages and why the hell did he choose brighton posts as there a tin pot club did a bit of looking around there site and the net and when you look at it they are not that bad off brand new stadium ,great manager in gus poyet, new owners and also what made me think wow is they have already sold 18 thousand season tickets as u can tell im bored delete if ya want
FrankieADZ Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 they seem like a club on the up to me...dont have any hard feelings towards them...hope they survive this season.
STUHILL Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Love their stadium!! I think Poyet basically said you will be the star of the team! Plus there are more than a few rumours going around that Sven pulled out last minute. Who knows. Anyway, Nugent on a free is much better business I say.
accessory Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Apart from CMS and Hoskins, their squad is lacking in both quality and Championship experience. They may emerge in due course (if Poyet stays, which isn't certain) as potential promotion contenders but, new stadium or not, it's unlikely to happen this season. Looking forward to the awayday at their place in February, though.. The stadium's drinking outlets will offer real ales from two local breweries, Harveys and Dark Star, both organisations having supported the club's appeal for a new stadium at Falmer, along with special guest beers from breweries local to the away teams
John Matrix Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 ^^ that's quality. wish we did something like that, singha and everards on tap

Webbo Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Brighton could be dark horses this season. Playoffs or not far off I reckon.
oxford blue Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Plus there are more than a few rumours going around that Sven pulled out last minute. Or is that trying to save face. The Peterboro' owner is quotedin the P'h Evening Telegraph as saying “I presumed Leicester were favourites, but Craig was going to have to wait 10 days before speaking to Sven Goran Eriksson who was on holiday which I thought was a bit strange. If I’d had a bid accepted for a player as good as Craig I’d have wanted to speak to him straight away to tie up the deal." So CMS goes into into talks with Sven thinking his holidays are more important than me. Perhaps not surprising he didn't sign!
McFoxy Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 They are a team on the up, and whilst anything can happen in football, i think they will need a bit of stability and time to consolidate. they were doing pretty good before till we nicked Micky Adams off them. With the new stadium, an owner seemingly willing to put a bit of wonga in and a population of 1 million plus in the area, i think with a good start they have something to build on. I still reckon they're a good 2 or 3 years from promotion contenders though.
HankMarvin Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony is surprised that Craig Mackail-Smith chose to join Brighton, but understands the reasons for joining. The Seagulls were late entrants in the race to sign the 27-year-old striker, but they saw off the challenges of West Ham, Leicester, QPR and Norwich. "Everyone knows Norwich came in with a very strong offer last season and I very nearly sold him. Then we heard that Neil Warnock was very keen to sign him for QPR," said MacAnthony. "We actually struck a deal with QPR. Craig was keen and it looked set to go ahead, but things changed and Warnock told us that his directors could not make the deal happen. "Leicester were next to come along and there had also been enquiries from Wolves, Reading and others. Brighton then made me an offer which was a poor offer and I spoke to their people just to say 'no way'. "I presumed Leicester were favourites - Brighton were back in the background. But they matched Leicester's offer with a little bit more up front and it became clear to me that Craig was very keen to join them. "I was surprised Craig chose them, but to be fair they are a club heading in the right direction. They have a good manager and they play great football so all the best to them and to Craig."
Zingari Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 So there you go then ! It's nothing to do with Sven pulling out at the last minute
accessory Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Of course. The posh chairman is a man of complete integrity and wouldn't dream of telling porkies.
HankMarvin Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Please lets not go over this again its boring now So what makes you look in the thread and post exactly? feel free to indulge in the 100s of other threads
Guest Bilo Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Dark horses in my opinion, playoffs a real possibility for Brighton. I can see why CMS joined them in a sense, have a team built around him there or have to compete with one or more strikers of similar calibre here in Nugent and possibly Maynard/Yakubu if they come.
paddy Agyemang Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Can't wait for Brighton game I'm gonna slate CBS the gay bandit Cms
purpleronnie Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 I was pissed off about this one, I really wanted him to sign for us.
sdb Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Can't wait for Brighton game I'm gonna slate CBS the gay bandit Cms Can't you be ill that day?
MC Prussian Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 The AMEX Stadium looks lovely: Shame we have to play them in Winter.
purpleronnie Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Have to say my views have changed on their new stadium, I thought it was going to look great but that away end just looks shit, more like some industrial storage unit, a poor effort especially when consider the costs compared to similar stadiums. A distinct lack of style. Maybe considering what brighton and their fans have been through people are viewing it through rosetinted spectacles? One thing is for sure the brighton fans love it, because compared to what they had before its a palace.
lcfcadam Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Has anyone yet raised of why a town with a significantly smaller population than Leicester has managed to sell 4,000 more season tickets than us? Perhaps they did some cheap ST offers or something?
MC Prussian Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Has anyone yet raised of why a town with a significantly smaller population than Leicester has managed to sell 4,000 more season tickets than us? Perhaps they did some cheap ST offers or something? Season-ticket packages are very competitively priced, with adult prices ranging from the cheapest at £395 to £595 for some of the very best seats in the stadium. Concession tickets are available from £49 for under-10s, £99 for under-16s and £267.50 for seniors. The club also wish to make it as easy as possible for supporters, and in a revolutionary move all fans have the option of a rolling 12-month direct debit, at NO EXTRA COST - meaning that even the best adult tickets can be purchased for less than £50 per month. http://www.seagulls....e/SeasonTickets Besides, they've sold about all of their total of 16'000 season tickets - which is "only" 2'000 more than our 14'000. Perhaps they're a little more football crazy with the new stadium, promotion and all?
